Alright, time to revive a long-dead project of mine.

Features:

10 levels, including two end-of-demo extras and a formerly-scrapped level in pipes.ips
Admittedly boring custom overworld. Never was my strong point.
ExGFX, custom palettes, sprites, blocks, and music
A few of those songs are original compositions by me

Really nothing too new since my original demo 2 years ago, just a couple more levels and an excuse for an overworld. I also scrapped some of the original end-of-demo levels for being stupid-hard.

Excuse plot: Mario and co. started up a band and come to these islands because their music store sells the best instruments. As far too usual to be coincidence, Bowser also has his eye on the music store.

C3 2012 thread
(contains more screens, some outdated; as well as more links to older threads and a defunct hack link)

Download Here!
(This link will cease to function if I ever officially submit the hack to the site, or if I make a newer demo, whichever happens first.)

I watched the videos, and your levels look good. You made a good use of the terrain. The only thing I'd point out is that you seem to use a lot of copies of the same enemy toghether, try to space them out with other enemies to give it more variation, but other than that, you're good.

Good luck with finishing the hack.
Re-uploaded the demo to make a few minor fixes and a major one, most notably:

-Updated title screen to say Demo 2
-Major fix is removing the door in the first level. Those who downloaded the old version got an obvious-beta sneak peak at the second castle, complete with non-functioning conveyor belts.

While I'm at it, here are a couple early screenshots for the next level I'm working on:

I'll probably change the FG graphics. Can't use SMB2's tileset all the time. Will most likely change the Lakitu to the SMB3 version also.

Reuploaded with yet another fix: the 1-up block in the first castle now actually gives a 1-up, not a vine leading to nowhere.

More screenshots as well, this time for the 2nd castle that I accidentally leaked in the first upload of this demo:

Placeholder GFX hoooo!
