On that note, if I may be so bold as to also suggest considering doing remixes of it for all the boss battles. If you've played the recent Kirby Triple Deluxe, you may have noticed that nearly all of the boss themes in that game are based on the same song, and it worked out beautifully there.
Just a suggestion, though. It'd certainly fit better than all that Final Fantasy and Sonic music.
...I hope you plan on submitting that to the music section (well, I guess SMWCP 1/2/1.5's resources are supposed to be available for public use anyway once it's released). That sounds very good indeed.
Oh yeah, and I agree with keeping the boss theme, though if we want to remix it depending on the world theme, that would be okay...though then there would be more variation in the boss themes here than in SMWCP2, which seems kind of odd.

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

I wish I had speakers or a YT link to RednGreen's song to see how he made people's ears orgasm again.
I don't know if it's just me, but I think any original level that gets cut from the ROM should have its associated music removed, assuming that it wasn't used in another level. Most of the garbage-tier levels used one-shot songs though (or in the case of a couple levels- several), so nuking those as well will free up a lot of space.
For those who need a reminder of what song appeared in what level(s), here.

good god this is incredible please share some of your talent
More serious: I frickin' love this. I would in all ways be for using it, and I think that seems to be the popular opinion here. Opening up the first level with this track would set a fantastic bright tone I feel the first level should have.
So here's a few more tracks available if anyone wants to help out.
1. A new cave composition to replace "Few Paths Forbidden".
2. A new castle composition to replace "Krook's March" (as well as a couple other mediocre tracks in the hack).
3. A new desert composition (because way too many levels use Under the Fake).
We still need a new title screen, switch palace, and credits theme too.
Do they have to be new ports or compositions? I can think of a few existing compositions that might work, such as Absolute Claustrophobia and Deep Dark Caves for caves; Teresa's Parlor, Boo is taking over [sic], and Rock the Boo for castles; and Arabic Coffee and Desert Dance for desert levels. For ports, there is WyattCroucher's "marisaw7" port (this) and my port of Sandy Mountain from Mickey's Magical Quest 3 for desert levels and this for castles. I also have theseMIDIs, amongothers, that maybe could be turned into something.
I'm gonna try writing the Krook's March replacement. Is there anything you'd like me to keep in mind when writing it? This assumes we're going for a more unified approach with regards to music composition.
Nothing overly specific in mind - you can compose whatever you want for it (and .brrs are probably fine if you wish to use samples as well). I'd just recommend playing the first couple of castles to give you an idea/some motivation.
