This level is my level on a shortcut path in world 5.
I personally don't think it was a bad level but there's still a couple of fixes possible.
- A chainsaw at the very end disappears
- The first part being autoscroll prevented a small backtrack for reward area and made the p-switch seem less sensible because you had to think faster; could be replaced/???
- Anything else?

I replayed this recently and didn't find any major faults with it. I thought maybe the autoscroll speed could be lowered a tiny bit (since the line-guided platform can't catch up at the end), but I wasn't even sure about that. If you have any minor fixes you want to apply, go for it.
Removing the autoscroll seems like a drastic change for something as minor as an optional p-switch for a 1up, but I'll leave it up to you.

I didn't mean to imply removing the autoscroll; more as in a very slight redesign to have the level work slightly better with the autoscroll.
Might also be worth noting that the level was actually orignally designed without autoscroll in the vertical section; that was added somewhere along the line I think.
