Mariocrash's SM64 Major Hack [CANCELLED]

To explain why exactly it's cancelled, please go to the last page.

Hey 'ey 'ey folks! Since I'm off duty from Temple Quest, here's my new thing I'm making.

> Over 120 stars in total
> New areas
> New story

> New character
> New gameplay and difficulty

PLOT

In the Mushroom Kingdom, where everyone has found peace and quiet, Mario, suddenly finds a rare object after it was being warped through a portal in the sky: the Red Star. SUPER CRASH TIME YEAH!
Wow, it looks really good so far #tb{:D}

I had quite a lot of fun playing It's A Crash, so I think that this hack will be no exception.

Thanks! Not to mention, this is the true sequel of It's A Crash, so it's only the beginning of my Super Crash here! #w{=D}
SUPER CRASH TIME YEAH!
Make it based of Crash Bandicoot Warped, I know you loved that one, or I'll Crash you causing a major crash.

Maybe, maybe not. I'll eventually make a beach level based off a level from Crash 3.
SUPER CRASH TIME YEAH!
I have a copy of Sanity. Beach textures from Crash Bandicoot if that'll help.
It looks promising. Looking forward for more previews.

Oh no! Mario's hat is copyrighted!

Anyways, looking good so far! Keep up the good work!

Thanks! And yeah, the copyrighted "C" was intentional because it's Crash's (or mine's) trademark symbol, like if I really own the character.

Your hack is really nice so far. Gonna wait for the release and review it. (Expect some extremely detailed analyzing, lol :D)

Your level is actually pretty cool! Perhaps you could darken the textures a bit (it's a pirate cove, after all), but as it is it's already good level design, and it makes good use of the game's objects (that pirate speech at the entance made my day).

Thanks! I've slightly lighten the textures to make it look better. I tend to look back at the original water stage which texture is transitioned on both surfaces. #w{:>}

Btw, did you actually export the original Jolly Roger Bay sunken ship, and made it part of your sketchup model? If so, how did you do it?

Honestly, I've made the ship by myself, with an airship placeholder model I slowly constructed around 5 hours.

Well, both the exterior AND interior (specially those wooden bars, which serve as platforms in the original) looked suspiciously similar to the original sunken ship... But if you did it from scratch, then congratulations, you fooled a (kinda) expert SM64 modeler!

In other words, IT IS, but I'm way bit inexperienced to do more detailing scenery models than you!

Been working all this week along, I'm so hyped to get this done! #w{=3} I re-made a couple levels like those ones at back in mid-2013.

Bowser's Airship Fortress
Bowser's first stage (based upon Rainbow Ride and Mario Kart DS's aforementioned race track)

Bob-omb Meadow
Introduction stage of the hack; same departure as in It's A Crash (totally re-made with major changes hence everything, in addition of a waterfall and some trees).

And to note more further progress, two cap switch stages are complete. One of them is Riddle Sky Tower (Wing Cap) taking place over a galaxy-esque night sky.
SUPER CRASH TIME YEAH!
New preview! Here's Airship Fortress as seen before!

UPDATE
All 3 cap switch stages are complete and bonus stages are almost complete (1 left to do). Now I'll be able to focus on the main levels by giving few pictures from my sketchup progress.

Btw, that scrolling fog at the death floor looks too square. Try making it more circular, or simply larger (so that it extends beyond the sky box). Square fog patches are not very aesthetic.

Did the circular patch but it screwed up the scrolling, so I leave it squared. That's odd to not see it at the very end, although I've extend it.

it is probably screwed up because you didn't made it a group.

Or because you didn't count all the faces (triangles) you wanted the texture to scroll in (It's better to triangulate them manually then). Afterwards you have to insert that number (no more no less) in the importer's scrolling textures screen.

Sometimes I know how many polygons are there to scroll (only if it's a necessary minimum of faces) But sometimes I found there is an additional polygon scrolling face that's not supposed to appear.

Nonetheless, I'd figure this out with the face group thing to make them easily.

What if you exported only the fog as an obj file, then looked at the polygon count from SketchUp's export log? That's what I do with all my scrolling textures...

What a method, that's quite neat there.

Anyway I've re-polished things in my first-previewed 2 bonus stages, but you'll see them sooner or later as unexpected.
SUPER CRASH TIME YEAH!
Here's my newer completed level which has been modeled and remodeled countless times.

Boonster's Tower (pun name of "boo" and "monster")
Big Boo's Haunt mashed-up reboot, ghost stage

And look how it is in-game, from both sides.

And one of the 3 newer cap switch stages, with the same "new" power-up.

Iron'ferno Falls
Iron Cap stage

Metal Mario's rival, Iron Crash!

SUPER CRASH TIME YEAH!
