NEW Alfa DEMO 3

What is new:

Interaction Module:
-You can create multi-hitboxes for collision with mario and multi- interaction points to have a more accuracy interaction with objects.

Logic Module:

-It shows an advance of Super Scriptnes, For now only have very features, but i will add more on the future.

I have questions:

1) Dyzen have things for PIXI or GIEPHY? (things included in routines stuff)
2) Would you include a library for scripting? (for those who doesn't know how to code / script a sprite)
3) What features would you implement in the future?

It will include common libraries and some libraries made by myself, also you can add custom libraries to the tool.

The first official version will have normal sprite support only, you can make frames, animations, hitboxes vs mario, interaction points to detect blocks and a logic module where you can write code for the sprite and you can use premade routines to do your sprite.

Second official version will include dynamic sprite support with a lot of features to make dynamic sprites easier and hitboxes vs others sprites, also will include dynamic z library to change palettes and graphics using the tool and a spawn point maker to put spawn points where the sprite can summon others sprites.

i dont know what features i will add for third official version but probably custom player support.

Pixi have a lot of bugs and dont have more support from community.

Sure, but you need to know some about logic and asm, probably for simple sprites you dont need to know asm, but if you want to do a complex sprite you always will need some coding skills. Now the tool will guide you saying you what do each routine, how to use them, what args needs, etc.

About the ASM script editor, do you think that there's a way to connect the frames / animations GFX codes to their respective ASM codings? (such as jumping, shooting, flying, defeated...)
Yep, they will have conection, for example, if you have an animation called "Walk" then if you want to change to that animation you only must write "JSR ChangeAnimationWalk"

I wanted to post something in the thread about SNES Office, but i prefer to bump this thread because it's a thread about Dyzen.

I said major flare about those errors and i said him that the tool must be rejected for that, i will upload a new version very soon with some extra features like sprites bases for newbies and some useful routines, also with a tutorial and Pixi compatibility. Probably it will be available the next week.

I will work on a system of templates, with that system, people without ASM knowledge will be able to do sprites and people with ASM knowledge will save a lot of time. Also to add pixi compatibility and some premade interactions for hitboxes, that version will be finished soon.

-Default Template: a template with nothing basically.

-State Machine Template: a template for sprites with multiples states.

-Flying Sprite Templates.
--Moves horizontally.
--Moves horitontally and do Wave move on Y Axis.
--Moves in circles or ellipses.
--Moves Horizontally doing a wave in X Axis.
--Moves Vertically doing a Wave in Y Axis.
--Moves in arcs of circles or arcs of ellipses.
--Moves horizontally but following player on Y axis.
--Moves following player.

-non-Flying Sprites.
--Moves following player without obstacle avoiding.
--Moves following player with obstacle avoiding.
--Moves horizontal and change direction when touch a wall.
--Moves horizontal and change direction when touch a wall or detects a ledge.
--All latests templates but with random jumps including.

All templates can have HP and can have 6 default interactions options per box, Interaction per box can be:

-Normal interaction: If mario jumps over the sprite, the sprite lose X of HP (if hp <= 0 dies with status 2), if mario jumps over the sprite with spin jumps, the sprite lose Y HP (if hp <=0 dies in smoke or death animation), other case mario recieve damage. Basically the normal interaction of koopas or normal enemies from the game.

-Spiky interaction: If mario jumps over the sprite with spin jump, mario bounce, other case mario recieve damage, basically like chain saws.

-Spiky but allowing normal jump interaction: Basically the same of spiky interaction but also bounce with normal jump.

-Multi-Color shell Interaction: basically bounce with normal jump, and lose X HP with spin jump (if hp <= 0 dies in smoke or death animation).

-Solid Interaction: the sprite is solid like a platform.
--Can be solid from above, from left, right or bellow.

-Solid from above and hurt from below like a mega mole.

You always can do you own interaction or sprite using the tool, template system only wants to save time to the user and allow people without ASM knowledge do their own sprites.

Also template system is very flexible, users can do their own templates.
