Wiiqwertyuiop's "Collectable Shell Coins" not working properly

There are issues with this block. I inserted it with no tweaking of the ASM file at all.

Video demonstration

This block is very glitchy, and in some cases, crashes the ROM. If Mario jumps to a coin, the coin counter will constantly increase and the coin won't disappear; this also causes game slowdown.

In the video, I also show Mario kicking a shell at a row of coins on the ground. There were 6 that the shell collected, but I gained 15 coins instead of 6.

To see if one of the patches I inserted into my project caused the block to work incorrectly, I inserted it into a fresh copy of SMW; it acted the exact same way.

This block should probably get a fix and an update.

Thanks!
It's been some time you've asked this, but I only found this thread now, so...

1) Did you make them act like tile 25?

2) There's a note in the download description saying to not put them by walls. In your video, there were coins by a (vertical) wall and some were on the floor, which is maybe considered a (horizontal) wall.

It's a heavy downside for coins, I must say... A fix would be really desirable in this situation.

But yeah, try using them with no wall contact at all and it might work. Didn't test it myself, because lazy.

1. Yes, they act like tile 25.

2. Some were put on the floor, but they still don't work correctly when in the air.
