Paying 100 US$ for competent designers to finish my hack (Yoshi´s Island Lost Levels)

Hello everyone.

My name is CargoOfDarkness. I have not been on SMWC since 2012.

I once started a Yoshi´s Island hack:

And I wish it was finished. But for the fact I have children and work to do and a lot to care of - I cannot spend most of my free time into rom hacking again. I am also out of shape using Golden Egg.

I would GLADLY gift anyone good 100 USD via Paypal if they would continue my hack. Maybe one of the great designer as Yoshis Fan or Golden Yoshi.

My conditions are that you use some of my scetches and I can look over your shoulder from time to time. It also would be nice if you could start right away.

As you can see in the old thread, 2 worlds are complete already. I also started Bowsers Castle already. The level names should STAY. Same as the Yoshi colors.

So basicly it´s only raw level design to do for you.

A hacker with kids is rare enough but one who will pay 100 dollars is a totally diffrent kettle of fish altogether. Either your totally loaded or you just really really wanna make a hack.

What's the point in making a hack if someone else does it for you, even if they are following sketches. Where's the pride? Sketches are easy to draw, it is making the levels and then fixing the bugs that appear with them. Also sprite placement and a lot of major decisions.

Not even 100 dollars would be enough to deal with the constant attempt at trying to stay in contact with you (do note that this particular point is my opinion).

Plus, where is the guarantee you'll pay the person, much less if you pay, will they come through? Is a 100 dollars really worth a ROM hack?

First, I got the money, I am from europe and 100 USD are about 77 €. That is not too much for me.

The most important thing for you people to understand is, that I got not very much freetime - and in the time I have for myself I wanna PLAY and have fun.

I see how much time I got years ago and still would love to see my work finished but I definitly do not have time for it, besides also learning Golden Egg again.

Also I came up with the idea of money because 1. this place looks not very active so I want to give a nudge and 2. I would also get some good quality of it. I would not even care if the person who continues my hack claims it their own.

I cannot believe that.

I'm from Europe too and 77 euro is quite a lot to me But then again I'm a teen living in Ireland sooo... But this forum isn't very active at all and people rarely actually make a 100% hack for Yoshi's Island.
I dunno, something about the game makes me lose motivation to hack it very fast.

Make it $100 per level and you've got a deal

It's because the request is really absurd. The point of hacking is to have fun doing it, and if you're just going to pay someone to make your game for you, then it isn't even really -your- project anymore. You're honestly better off just releasing the two worlds and calling that complete.

Also, even for $100, making four full worlds of a YI hack would take far, far more time than it's worth.

I hope this isn't a bad bump, but I tried to PM CargoofDarkness, but I don't know if he's been online since he last posted. I told him I might be interested in trying to work on his game when the weather gets colder.
