Eh, I kinda lost motivation to improve RiR, and I also noticed this project was dying.
Maybe SMWC Island collab wasn't the best time to open up. SMWCP2 has lost motivation as well, but it's mostly because we need a few more things and they're taking foreeeever.
Come help save Super Mario World Central Production 2 here!
I'd still like to see it finished. It's been harder on my end though between full-time work, two other romhacking related projects, and offline activities.
I'm considering not bothering to update Final Void that much. I haven't been motivated to build a new sublevel or two for it in a couple weeks now. Haven't made a decision about that yet though.

I don't think anyone still working on smwcp2 has lost motivation, personally I just don't have any more time after my full time job and another project that had my commitment before smwcp2. I took time off that first project to work on smwcp2 and got a lot done, but now I have to go back to it. I assume Ladida and Kipernal have similar reasons. It's just that the only things left have so few people who can work on them (I've tried passing off a boss before...).
Well, Mineyl was supposed to be making graphics for one of my levels (the one that most needs a makeover), and he disappeared, so...I'm not sure what to do about that.
Hey there. Sorry about that, Imamelia. Two reasons for the delay, basically: number one being that I thought of a much better version of the graphics than what I had previously displayed in the graphics thread, but because of all the work I'd already put into graphics, I ended up burning myself out. The other reason being that I mostly work in bursts, and I happened to have a huge burst there at the beginning of the project, and then my break from working on SMWCP1.5 happened to melt into life getting really busy for me once more. The next burst is coming soon (as evidenced by me logging back into the site, finally), so I'll get around to the graphics I promised you when I'm back in full swing.

That's another issue worth considering. Mineyl has periods of inactivity here, and he was definitely one of the top contributors to this project. I think his inactivity caused a motivation drop in everyone, including myself.
While I admit that this is a great idea; a community driven effort to improve upon their first collaboration, I have to say that now might not be the time for it, what with school and all, plus another community collab already being in the works at the same time. Perhaps it'd be a good idea to delay this project until a time when things are a little less...I don't know, busy?
If it weren't for school and sports, I'd do what I could to contribute toward this project myself but I just currently do not have the time for such a thing.
There are a couple of levels I'd like to work on, but could we either address the slowdown caused by the sprite status bar or simply remove it from the base ROM? It's much easier to edit levels if I know when I'm actually reaching the point of slowdown, plus a sprite status bar isn't something this hack really needs anyway, is it?
If I may suggest, could we use the minimal Status Bar patch that Ladida made? It restricts the Status bar to about two 8 pixel heigh columns, with a black background for it. This would keep the game running smoothly as well as not having to worry about Background that break the status bar. The only immediate issue would be Megadmin's mathimatical attack.
Could we also get a sprite/block list of what's inside the game?
-------------------- I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...
