Yup, this is why my other thread for SM64 Adventures in Pipeland has been dead for so long :P

This will be a full hack, hopefully released alongside PipeLand when it's finished.

Story: Mario wakes up floating in the middle of a large body of water, with a beach in front of him. On the beach there seems to be a large lighthouse. Atop the large cliff mario spots a large tower, and an island afloat in the sky. He talk to the inhabitants of the lighthouse to realize bowser has stolen the power of the island's stars, and is using them to prepare a laser cannon to launch at the mushroom kingdom. Mario must recover the stars from all of the castles on the island!

This hack will test a new idea of mine, using multiple castles in one large interconnected hub world. Each castle will act as a portal to a certain amount of levels. A new castle can only be opened once a certain amount of stars are obtained.

Nice another hack you're working on. Will you please add different music in the hub with the music changer?

Maybe make a large castle in the middle of the hub where you it leads to the Bowser course and also make a small castle so it can to the second hub.

I have some ideas for it, there will be multiple areas. If I can get it to work correctly, I might have each individual castle change the current music playing to a different one when you get close enough to it.

I can help you with music if you want. Hope you try to put the music changer correctly.
I like the ideas and stuff but, please go through the trouble to find better textures. That blue castle doesn't really look that great to me this way.

The textures on the castle are only placeholder until I realize what I actually want it to look like. I'm not sure what colors would best suit a lighthouse :P

An overview of the island:



The individual areas of the island!


Area 1: Beachway Cove


The main beach of the island, complete with lighthouse! Though it looks a bit.......old....kinda. Oh well! Who is going to stop your fat italian self from charging into that old lighthouse and probably have it collapse under your weight!


Area 2: Tree Tall Forest


An old forest filled with tall trees and enough vines to overthrow 10 social networking websites! (U C wut I did thar? hur hur.) That giant tree stump seems hollow......I wonder whats inside.


Area 3: Clockwork Tower


An ancient castle most likely used by ancient people who lived here. It seems to have some spiritual significance as time does not function properly around this castle. (Some kind of wibbly wobbly timey wimey junk no one cares about.....) That probably explains why the terrain outside is so...strange. I mean, lava and ice together??!! this is gonna be fun.....

I actually worry about some faces in the model, they can make the level glitch like hell.

I agree, though I'd also say that some of the trees get oddly thin up high, and the brick texture inside the building (hall/doorway) looks quite odd. Overall I'd say this looks quite good.
There are some glitchy faces I'm sure, but I'm going to correct those after I finish the whole thing up.

Most textures are going to be changed, like the hallway one.

The trees were a result of laziness, I'm going to improve on the tress soon :)

Please don't. Quote pyramids are huge and contain nothing useful; they force people to scroll around more than necessary, often in both directions.

I removed these ones; please refrain from creating more. There are plenty of ways to quote big posts without pointlessly embedding the same image multiple times; the easiest is to remove the [ from [img]stuff[/img], or stick a [b][/b] after the [. (You can slap Ctrl-B or the toolbar button to quickly create a [b][/b].)


To get back on topic:
- The tree trunks look a bit weird (they get too thin higher up).
- I like the style on the tree tops; it's nothing I've seen before, but experimentation is good, and this one turned out well.
- The lighthouse looks a little weird in that it's not the highest point nearby (a fire on the cliffs would be more visible to a nearby ship), but realism has never been a priority for Mario games anyways. Ignoring that, it's beautiful.

Well, it is (obviously) Star Road! After getting 120 stars you'll be able to get up to that island, hop in that star and head to Star World! From Star World you will be able to access special seeccreeeeet features! INCLUDING:

Super Hard Levels!

and

DLC MODE.

Yup! DLC castle exists in Star World! When first entering, there won't be much of anything there.....BUT, every now and again i'll be releasing DLC patches, adding extra bonus content such as altered HUBs, brand new levels, even additional castles, all available in Star World!

Of course star world will have more then that, but for now i'll keep the rest a seecreeeeet......
