Questions about the contest/collab can go here.
And thus, the waiting for signups to open begins.

But you don't have to sign up! You can design your level right away.
There are no signups this time. Last year went smoothly enough that I don't think it's necessary this year (just as long as people follow the other rules I've laid out). Just go ahead and start designing whatever you want whenever you want.

(more specific reason: I ended up rearranging about 90% of the secondary exit numbers/Map16 pages/etc that I assigned last year, so I realized there is really no point in doing it this year.)
Okay, I guess that works, though I would hope everyone adheres to the Map16 pages/exit numbers/etc. that they're given to avoid complications down the road. Which was always part of the reason signups were done last time to make insertion as quick and painless as possible.

Heh, just earlier today I was thinking about when this would start and I guess I completely forgot it began today. <_<

Hopefully nothing happens here that will cause a massive drama outburst that delays work on the project *cough*smwcp2 credits*cough* >_> <_<
Hype hype hype #thp{=D}
Also glad to know we're gonna keep track of secret exits this time around.

I got some questions.

1. Can we change the palette slot of a sprite/tilesets?
For example: I change the koopa’s palette slot where it should normally(left side) be to the berry(right) side

2. Can we have minor edits on the graphics?
For example: Cement Block will have a full square instead of a curving square

Oh, that's good. If we're going to claim some resources, do we choose what numbers we want for specific stuff or are they chosen by the collab leaders?

In example, I'd like some extra resources. Am I supposed to ask for them or should I post what resources I used after finishing my level?

No, the palette locations must remain untouched.

That would involve using YY-CHR to edit the graphics, so no. It's unnecessary anyway.

Use whatever resource numbers/Map16 pages you'd like. The reasoning for this is in my latest post in this thread.

I won't be assigning any additional resources beyond what I've allowed in the rules thread. If I start allowing more than that, people are going to either create a) levels that are way too long, or b) levels that go way too overboard graphically.
What about themes? Do we have to make a level from a list of themes so we can group each world?
You can make whatever theme you want, but try to get a bit more creative than the standard grassland if possible.
Joining this for sure.
Question: I want to use lotsa palettes and tiles, so can I change the colors of something? Like.. the generic grassland outline uses color 22. Can I change it so that I can use color 2F for the outline?
Two questions regarding custom music
- are samples allowed (I guess not, but I wanted to make sure)?
- can we use more than one custom song in our level (like one for cave, one for grass and one for a random bonus room)?

They are. Music isn't counted as part of the score, so it doesn't really matter what the song is.

And yes, you can use more than one song in your level, but don't go overboard please. Two is probably sufficient.
ok thanks. Three songs are an example, I don't think I will use more than two but I wanted to ask anyways. I am very excited to participate, since I never submitted something in an official contest.

I don't think I could find anything specifically mentioning this, but is sprite tileset mixing allowed?

Legacy custom music

How am I so creative? I think taking walks might have something to do with it.
Every single level I will ever make in SMM2 will be easier than Ultra Necrozma.
I think I allowed that last year, so I'll let it slide this year. As long as you're not using YY-CHR to draw new graphics, it should be fine.
Are we allowed to make threads for our levels like last time?
