It's here! It's bigger. It's badder. Well, not badder. Better.

It's the second demo of Gregor's New Super Mario World! Described in the past by critics as "it's okay" and "not now, I'm busy", the second demo will be sure to live up to your expectations, particularly if they're low. But what does this second demo add, exactly? I'm glad you asked, rhetorical person. Here's a small list of what's new:

- Graphical tweaks. Gameplay tweaks.
Mostly some small things, but they go a long way.
- The first world's levels have been rebalanced.
They're now of a more appropriate first world difficulty.
- A whole new world.
A dazzling place, filled with new levels for you to explore!
- An intro cutscene.
So now there's an actual story, with even more story coming in the future!
- Custom bosses!
Both castles in the demo have bosses of the custom variety! You can even fight them!

Don't believe me? Well then, you can have some screenshots! Oh, you do believe me? Oh, um. Well, I already took them, so I might as well. It's not like people would download it without screenshots anyway.

With a special thanks to leodd for managing to finish two custom bosses at what nearly the last minute.

When C3 is over, I'll take a look at what people said about the demo, tweak it and submit it to the hack section.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW YEAH

Great to see a new demo of this. I've really liked the first demo, and the screenshots you've shown as well, and I really liked this. I'm sure this will be one of the best hacks I see this C3.

10/10
Now you can even show your support with this user-bar! Well, you know, you don't have to... but it'd be nice...

--------------------
Added, because this hack is epic win.
Noice!

This looks better than the last release by a longshot!
I've just started playing it and I'm already having lots of fun. That intro cutscene was 10/10.
By the way, where did you get those Mario Maker graphics?
Thanks, guys.

Recreated the Mario Maker graphics myself.

does this bsnes compatible?

--------------------

I only test on bsnes. So yes.

--------------------
Does anyone also notice that this was made in 1993?

This demo deserves win

no I'm not kidding the level design and gfx are definatly awesome
Dude, so good. I played through the demo and this is exactly the thing I'm making right now, which makes me love it even more. Oh and leod should win for the cutest bosses ever, he did great work on them.

I know right

This Demo was great. The levels are fun and the bosses are really creative.

I'll be waiting for the full release!
The screens look really appealing, I'll be playing the demo as soon as possible.
Good luck with finishing it, I'm supporting you.
I've been rather loving every screenshot you showed, and this demo doesn't disappoint. I had a great time playing (the bosses are especially impressive, I don't remember seeing any of them before), and the aesthetics are very pleasant all the way through.

The only thing I'm wondering, really, is how memorable your hack will be in the long run. It's no doubt well-crafted, but with the plethora of vanilla-ish hacks in existence it's near impossible to make one really stand out.

(That is assuming outstandingness is a goal of yours in the first place. It might just as well matter more to have fun hacking, and improve as a maker of stuff in the process. #tb{:)})

By the way, did leod draw those sprite graphics? They look really, REALLY well made.. :O

Right on the money.

Leod touched up the boss graphics.

DOUBLE POSTING

As apparently no-one had any criticism, I've gone ahead and submitted it to the hack section. I made a few small tweaks while I was at it. Nothing too big, really, most noticeable thing is that I finally gave small Mario an extra walk frame like I wanted to do for some time.

Yup.

Your hack is really good I like it.#w{=)}
