[000] Unnamed Switch

I'm not too much satisfyed with the palettes yet, but it'll do for now. There is a problem in the corner of the bonus terrain, i'm still searching for a tile to cover it.

The level will be simple, there will have 3 rooms, and each will hold a special surprise. And one of that i wanted to get done in the previous contest, yoshi involved :)

The layout will be fast, dodging and jumping through the obstacles while solving the puzzles, got some things in mind.

I kind of like the palette, actually. Although, the corners of the switch palace tiles could use some work.

I think you can give it name Red Switch Palace:D
I've no idea if the shading isn't too dark, but overall the aesthetics are very well done. I agree about the corner tiles, they don't look very good. I suggest replacing them with normal switch palace corners. Nice work!
Ey guys

I'm not a fan of the excessive amount of layers of shading. Maybe two-ish are already enough. Otherwise, everything's looking really nice; hopefully this won't be as tough as your entry last year. Anyways, good luck and have fun designing!
I don't think you went overboard with the shading, it's a really cool look! Over all, I really love the look you've gone for. The only thing I'd recommend taking a second look at is the dirt palette. The slight shade of green just seems a bit out of place to me, but I'm aware you're not totally satisfied with the palettes yet.

Definitely looking forward to what else you'll be sharing!
I'm a sucker for plaid. You pallet is really neat.
Thank you all so far guys =)

Now to note somethings mentioned:

Yeah, i'm trying to figure out how to work them out, i'm leaving the standard corners for now.

The rooms will have different palettes, so...

I can't, there is only one vanilla corner for the palace, and if i place it on the orther sides it would cause cutoff. But i'll see if i can work it around, or if it don't look that horrid i'll keep it.

I tried with two, i didn't liked it much :/

Oh, and take a look at that =)
Why have one BG, if you can have two?

Don't mind the Sparky there, i'm just showing visuals for now.

AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU =D

Oh yeah, I forgot about this. This one looks better I think, but I have no idea how to fix that without any GFX changes. You can replace them with some blocks, but I feel it would look just worse. :|

You can keep it like it is, I think it looks better.
I like what you've done with some of the graphical treatments. The gradients are pretty lovely, especially the for the lava. However, there is one thing I have to critique. The background effect is pretty neat but my admiration for it stops at just about there. It's rather pointless and doesn't add to the atmosphere, but rather feels like an excuse to show off your ExAnimation prowess. It's also a bit weird how one is scrolling while the is static, but I guess since it's not possible to animate layer 3 (without using outside resources), there's not much you can do in that aspect. I'd recommend just sticking with the layer 3 background instead, but that's just my own opinion. It's up to you what you want to do with the aesthetics.

It is possible. See the contents what I talk about

Edit: By the way, Ludus, nice effect.
Why has nobody brought up that creepy-looking little Yoshi... whatever it's even supposed to be, that's just standing there?
WHUT?!

How did you do the background thing?

It's there to warn Mario of the colony of parasitic clowns lurking in the depths of Circus Switch Palace. It's like Aliens, but with clowns.

The level looks pretty good. The palettes and scenery are pleasing to the eye and the background shenanigans are really interesting.
