This level is a cave with some toxic stuff flowing around. BG2 palette 8 gave me the idea, though I ended up recoloring the waterfalls in palette 20 instead. I did the animation via SPASM so I didn't actually edit anything in the palette.

The orange gradient is also kinda neat, but I dunno


I was thinking of doing something with the muddy buddy at some point, though it might not work that well in world 1. Maybe in a bonus room.

(also I may or may not use fuzzies for the perfect 420 level, though the slopes mess up)
Yeah, do use fuzzies at least at some point in this level. It looks neat, but it would be nice to see the whole toxic deal be present somewhere in the gameplay (like what SNN did).

Go ahead and incorporate fuzzies somewhere. I think 2-E (and 4-5 but shhh) is the only level in the collab using them so far.
Also paper ghosts in this area may also be a good idea
Fuzzies, Paper Ghosts, and that one enemy that reverses your controls. Seems like a solid combination.

I've said this before and i'll say it again: They're called Grim Leechers.

Anyways, this looks like a pretty cool gimmick! I'd love to see all the reverse controls that happen.

Have the Reverserino Ghosteronis even been used so far?
I can't quite remember seeing them much, or at all, in any level till now.
Though I also didn't even play 50% of them.

The visuals here are certainly great. I think I prefer the first gradient over the orange one, maybe because it just looks more interesting, I guess. Nice job so far!

(trying to occasionally give some feedback on this from now on)
So I've actually sort of started the level. I've also reworked the visuals a bit, now featuring even more color hax!

oh my god it's been a year. Anyway, I restarted again because I didn't like what I was doing. It wasn't very solid, and I have better ideas now anyway.



Now featuring flatbed ferries. Also Jean de Fillet, because he was like in every other level in Yoshi's Island. Also the green water depletes the star timer (totally not jumping to SNN's level code). Fuzzies will come later, along with other ghosts/skeletons.

Will post a playable patch of like half the level soonish, unless I finish it all by then.

Patch link, plays up to the first middle ring. Also, left a door to a bonus room at the end, which will be accessible from not too much later into the level.
Can you find the other very sekrit bonus room????

Also ignore some minor graphical glitches and the colors on level init (spasm bug).
Made the "first" sublevel take place outdoors, should be much prettier now.



This little update is also featuring a Guy That Might Appear When You Play The Level.

i'm going to be helpful again and offer some month late feedback to say nothing more than 'great palette'

(seriously though i love the vibe this level gives off - feels unlike most other levels in terms of the atmosphere)
