ExGFX Remoderation "Race" and Update - RESULTS POSTED

So, the ExGFX remoderation is going pretty well now. We've got a few people working pretty hard on it - S.R.H., me, Hinalyte, antimatterhunter and Scorpion - and we're almost under 400 at the time of writing. We'll be done within a few months and it'll be great to finally finish it.

Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone that submitted user updates. They've really helped speed the process up and some of you are on for a Handy Helper badge, which is great. But we'd like more people to earn the Handy Helper badge because we like badges. Now, we're not trying to sponge all of our work onto you, but the ExGFX remoderation is a huge task, and sometimes the staff can't always manage stuff on there own.

So, here's what we've done: we've decided to remove the user rankings and change the way you earn the Handy Helper badge. Many people have already become eligible for the Handy Helper badge and you still will be, they'll all be handed out in one go, but for those who want it...

Basically, you have until the 31st of January, 23:59 GMT to submit as many updates as you want. However, for everyone that submits 20 in this time period, you will earn the Handy Helper badge. Now, after this time period, the Handy Helper badge will not be obtainable anymore, so this is your last chance to get it if you really want it. Don't get me wrong, though, you're still welcome to submit updates past that date - your hard-work won't go unnoticed!

And as a bonus, the person who does the most updates between now and then will get an extra prize (it's a secret until then). So, if you want the extra prize, be the best!

Your updates will be moderated by me. If your update doesn't pass moderation they'll be rejected like normal and it won't count, so make sure your update works.

For those who are new, here's some basic guidelines on how to submit an update courtesy of the fabulous Lightvayne:

-Updating screen shots to have an Map 16 screenshot and a in-game screen shot.
-include a palette if required
-Adding relevant tags

If you're unsure on what screenshots/files you need, I added a nice table to the submission page a while back, so take a look at that. Add [UPDATE] at the start of the submission so I know to count it. Just grab anything from the waiting section as long as it doesn't say (under moderation) in the name and make sure it's submitted by System. Also, add sample levels for FG/BGs and if you're unsure on tags I'll add them. Please also add the original submission URL in the submission notes.

This isn't really a competition as such, it's more us calling for help if you see what I mean. Some tasks we can't quite manage on our own! Any questions? Just ask here or something... #ExGFX on irc.caffie.net is there too!

Good luck!
awesome, glad to hear! #ab{:LOL:}
I will think about helping. It doesn't really sound complicated though I am almost certain some graphics are painful to deal with. A little question though:

Which timezone would the deadline be in?

I guess the two "Important" threads in this forum need to be updated as well.
Timezone is GMT. I'll add that to the post.
At first I wasn't planning on making any, but this post changed my mind when I found out how simple it was.

Already submitted a few updates, let's see if I can get that badge! :)

So it is a race after all. I submitted 8 so far (5 if you don't count the ones KTB got in before me :()
I've done a little few. Not sure if I'll manage to do twenty by the deadline, since I'm pretty slow and get distracted easily, but at least I'm helping out with this a little more. :3

Wait a sec, do the ones I did before still count?

You mean the ones before I posted this thread? No, this is a whole new thing! #wario{<3}

Oh #wario{:'(}

That's what I thought.
Will my moderations count or something?
Proably won't but oh well, I'll act like it does and do my best!
I want to help but I don't know how to make a screeshot of a Map16 window.

Either crop it with an image editor like Paint (meh), or hold 'Alt" while taking the screenshot to only take it of the window (recommended).

Hope that helps. :)

What do you mean press Alt.?

I don't know how take a screenshot of any type of window.

That doesn't help at all...
There's a button called "PrintScreen" (or some abbreviation of that) in your keyboard. Press that and CTRL+V on MS Paint and you'll get your current screen printed.
Right, but if you hold down the "Alt" button along with the Print Screen button, you can take a screenshot of only the window you are using instead of the whole screen. Useful as it saves you from the hassle of cropping.

Which key is the Printscreen key?

If you are using a laptop, you may have to hold Fn to activate it, or you may not have it at all.
I have it but Fn doesn't activate it.
you can also just use snipping tool, comes default with windows
soundcloud / bandcamp / twitter / youtube / vgm album
