So, the ExGFX remoderation is going pretty well now. We've got a few people working pretty hard on it - S.R.H., me, Hinalyte, antimatterhunter and Scorpion - and we're almost under 400 at the time of writing. We'll be done within a few months and it'll be great to finally finish it.
Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone that submitted user updates. They've really helped speed the process up and some of you are on for a Handy Helper badge, which is great. But we'd like more people to earn the Handy Helper badge because we like badges. Now, we're not trying to sponge all of our work onto you, but the ExGFX remoderation is a huge task, and sometimes the staff can't always manage stuff on there own.
So, here's what we've done: we've decided to remove the user rankings and change the way you earn the Handy Helper badge. Many people have already become eligible for the Handy Helper badge and you still will be, they'll all be handed out in one go, but for those who want it...
Basically, you have until the 31st of January, 23:59 GMT to submit as many updates as you want. However, for everyone that submits 20 in this time period, you will earn the Handy Helper badge. Now, after this time period, the Handy Helper badge will not be obtainable anymore, so this is your last chance to get it if you really want it. Don't get me wrong, though, you're still welcome to submit updates past that date - your hard-work won't go unnoticed!
And as a bonus, the person who does the most updates between now and then will get an extra prize (it's a secret until then). So, if you want the extra prize, be the best!
Your updates will be moderated by me. If your update doesn't pass moderation they'll be rejected like normal and it won't count, so make sure your update works.
For those who are new, here's some basic guidelines on how to submit an update courtesy of the fabulous Lightvayne:
If you're unsure on what screenshots/files you need, I added a nice table to the submission page a while back, so take a look at that. Add [UPDATE] at the start of the submission so I know to count it. Just grab anything from the waiting section as long as it doesn't say (under moderation) in the name and make sure it's submitted by System. Also, add sample levels for FG/BGs and if you're unsure on tags I'll add them. Please also add the original submission URL in the submission notes.
This isn't really a competition as such, it's more us calling for help if you see what I mean. Some tasks we can't quite manage on our own! Any questions? Just ask here or something... #ExGFX on irc.caffie.net is there too!
Good luck!
