Hello everybody. I am currently working on a SMW ROM hack called Kaizo Challenge. The story is that after years of torment and depression, Mario has set himself one of the hardest challenges known to man. Even though it is a WIP hack, I will give you a demo of the hack.
You can not enter the other levels.

Is that so wanted?

By the way the level was very easy, it is her first hack right?

Well I am trying to make it so as the game goes on, it becomes more and more difficult. Think of the first level as a secondary training level. The amount of levels is a surprise.

BTW, I am a male.
So you are making the difficulty scaled? Sadly that is a unique thing in kaizo. So I am guessing the first level would be a kaizo light level and the final ones get into harder than kaizo 3 territory. How many levels do you plan on making? I recommend you do only 3 to 5 levels since it is your first kaizo hack and hack in general it seems.

The first level was very, very easy to do, and it felt rather short overall. The mushroom at the beginning made me break a lot of things, including the muncher tunnel shortly after, which is annoying to get past if you're small. However, since this is your first hack, it's understandable. You still have to polish the level at various points and avoid unintended situations where Mario can get above ceilings to skip segments, even for training purposes. Taking a look at other Kaizo hacks to gain more inspiration helps as well, as it honestly was a bit weak on ideas.

I am going to be blunt here.
This game's difficulty comes almost entirely from using cheap tricks...
Here are some examples:
1. Pipe that leads to a death room
2. Cryptic answer to the puzzle for a the blue P-Switch
3. The glass like blockes act like munchers...
Using cheap tricks is not a good way of making difficulty...
If someone were to say "This game fucking cheats!" Than that is not good, they should say "I need some practice" Or "I have not played in a while"
Other than that, the palettes look good I guess? I don't know what else to say because the cheap tricks just are overly annoying...
Also if in Kaizo hacks the player is supposed to use Save states and Re-winds than this hack is pretty easy for kaizo, It does not really require skill except for the annoying jumps at the beginning...
