Hello there, fellow Kaizo Hackers! I'm back with a new fresh project that I'm excited to work on. If you don't know what it is already, well, you haven't read the title obviously. Anyway, instead of going all save-scummy with this hack, I decided to take another route that some people have attempted but never seemed to finished: making a save stateless Kaizo hack. This won't be ball-busting hard, but rather going by the roots of what the original Kaizo Mario trilogy did, with a little bit of "Live-A-Live" concepts inserted. If you don't know what Live-A-Live exactly is (aside from it's glorious music), it is an RPG that consists of 7 different chapters based on a different genres, as well as a gimmick and theme, ending the adventure off with a final chapter. The concept is the same here, except instead of genres, I'm going by styles. I'm pretty sure you all heard enough of my rambling long enough, so let's see some screenshots!


Beta Title Screen, Introduction trap, and Submap. The introduction is similar to Kaizo Mario, but it's a little more
complicated, but still easy if you know what to do. There's also a hidden Bullet bill in the bushes, so watch out!

"Item Abuse":

The first level, titled "Item Abuse", is a level where you avoid carrying items in the fences, otherwise you
will die. The SMB1 Scrolling is intact, so if you try to plan ahead, you can't go back for your item, so you
have to go with the level flow. This level took me 20 lives to complete.

If you haven't already noticed, each level is based on a title of another Kaizo hack. Hurtz Donut is next
on my list, so stay tuned.

That's all I got so far, although later on the hack will be much more interesting with more little gimmicks and tricks. Hope you like what I have to show, and you may wait for what I have in store next. Maybe it's Hertz Donut, or something technical; who knows?

Every single level I will ever make in SMM2 will be easier than Ultra Necrozma.

Looks pretty good so far, though I'm noticing a bit of odd water in the third from last screenshot (as well as a bit of odd fencing?) which you might want to fix.

Also, that logo actually looks pretty nice, so good job on that.

This seems interesting. You're not the first to come up with the idea of a savestateless Kaizo hack, which by itself isn't hard to do once you test it enough. The water in some of the screenshots is indeed odd, and I guess you already noticed it and will fix it. I wonder what else you'll implement for the gimmick you showed, so with that said, I'll wait for more updates from this!

Thought I'd show you that Hertz Donut won't be easy to tackle. The Upside-down volcano lotus sprites are pretty neat, actually! So much so, that I don't think this level will be the second stage anymore...

(No graphics at all yet; I'm kind of using a reversed mindset when it comes to these levels... I think Ladida touched upon this before?)

That's going to be the only stage, since the scrolling is there to prevent easily breaking the level.
