There's a conflict I'm having with what palette the tiles Sprite 49 create that I can't think of a solution for. My go-to answer will just get me disqualified and I'm done (and tired) of trying to use a work-around.

That and I really have no chance of placing in this thing anyway.

random bug totally screwing me over.
What kind of bug kills the game because there are too many sprites? And not on screen but in the level at total! The game dies because I have like too many sprites 3 screens ahead.

Anyway, I couldn't finish :< I had quite something planned for this but too many things going wrong so I threw something together with what I had in the last half an hour now.

That said, I didn't really like this challange. It felt sort of really restricting. I guess for the uber creative folks out there, it might be nice to show what they're made off.
So yeah, not expecting to win this :P

As for the results .. I'll be in Vancouver for five days with no Internet access, starting Wednesday, so I'll try my best to get them ready by Tuesday night. However, the more likely time will be at some point in about 10-15 days from now.

Okay, I was in hurry to submit my level, so I already knew it would be a last minute entry. But when I first uploaded it, the link was broken, so I had to upload it again and this is what happened:

It seems I failed to switch any OW tile to level 119, so I guess it wouldn't be acceptable anyway. Oh well, I had my fun and this was honestly a last minute idea. Maybe next time I'll think of something sooner.

So, 24hoSMW8 was based on 24hoSMW3. Also, I based 24hoSMW6 in 24hoSMW1. 8+1=9, and 9/3 =3, also, 4-2=2 and 6/2=3.

For those who have downloaded my entry, please redownload it. Since i did it in less then an hour, i kinda rushed and forgot that the intro level changed after the message 1 fix, thus the player could not get to the OW and level.

It should be ok now.

I couldn't make a decent post for my entry in time, so here it is.

It's Valley of Bowser 4 turned into a ~~spoopy~~ dark ghost house. I got rid of Yoshi and moved the secret exit to a different position, so you can get both exits without playing through the same entire level twice.

I hope it's not too dark. My eyes got used to it and I can't tell right now.

I can see the turn blocks, Mario and the Key. The ground I can kinda see, kinda can't. Nice idea though.

I was going to add layer 3 lava to 113, give it a BG gradient and plaster lava dolphins, podoboos and some fire spitting enemies everywhere. Lava dolphins have been done to death but it would just work so well with the level's layout.

Don't record your computer screen like that. Use a recording program like FRAPS or at the very least use your emulator's internal recorder.

The level itself feels very simple and empty, it would definitely benefit from a few extra sprites.
