Mario Quest 1 : The Puzzle Islands - Works in Progress

Hey guys, I want you to meet my ROM Hack, Mario Quest 1: The Puzzle Islands.
You hack is totally focused on puzzles, however, it includes the Castle of Bowser, except in two battles against him

The story is almost the same, Princess Peach is captured again and it's up to Mario to save her, however Bowser changed its base and is on an island that is on the island where Mario lives, but he did not expect Puzzles on your way.

The problem with a mystery is not bad there's something in there, I'm afraid. You need to give you mind moving a little longer in we gon na do that step is good in the World should is not likely to be so easy. Please make a play by using general for additional file.

Also the screenshots don't have a lot for me to comment on other than the fact you're using redrawn graphics so I'll just awkwardly walk out

3 things:

1 - title screen text isn't appealing to the eye
1b - can't even read the text fully
2 - OW is flat, and generally doesn't look great
3 - WHY ARE YOU USING REDRAWN GRAPHICS
WHY?

In all seriousness, the OW is quite flat. It's one huge island. Why not a few islands, with a mountain in the back? Why not a forest, or a lake in there too. It's just plain boring. Also, there isn't much decoration in that OW - there are lots of blank areas where there is just nothing.

On a good note, the level looks nice. I can't say much as I assume it's not finished, but it a good start.

I meant that bad, plain over worlds usually (especially if goddamn Andy moderates your hack) usually get rejected. They're bad to look at, and show that no effort was put into them. And you must always put effort into your hack for it to be good and accepted. So, you, ~~can shut yo' damn mouth SON~~... can... go eat a tree?

Hack moderation is no longer super strict like it used to be. We're in 2015 already.

Have you read the hack submission guidelines? If you did, you wouldn't make such assumptions.

If you guys don't mind my asking, what exactly is so wrong with the redrawn graphics pack? Even though I wouldn't really use it myself, I think it's fine if people do. And it can look very nice, done right.

I've become very grumpy these last few years, and have been biting my tongue here in SMWC's forums quite a bit. I just want to let you all know that if ever I come off as harsh, I still care about you all. You guys are great.

It looks weird and bad. Just seems out of the SMW style. And it looks awful.

The Second Reality Project Reloaded 1 and 2 are some great hacks and use those graphics. Now, some like them, some don't, and if the author does and thinks he can use them well, leave him be.

About your title screen, the palette of the "2015 Darkfesopo" text isn't good. Always make sure the letters' outlines are darker than their filling color, or your text won't be easily readable.

As people already said, your overworld needs to be more varied, square and flat islands are boring for the player.

Lastly, that level you show doesn't render well either because there are wood blocks everywhere. Try to use different blocks as much as possible, for example, your could use some of those crates instead (but you don't have to entirely remove the wood blocks!).
