One thing to consider is that Jimmy hasn't arranged all the music into an MP3 quality format yet, and he has since seemingly disappeared.
Furthermore, MSU1 doesn't even exist. It's a purely fictional chip, which, while supported in emulation and I believe certain SD flash carts, it wouldn't work in all honesty on real hardware, and as such, would kind of defeat the 'hardware compatible' aspects of this hack.
The point I'm making is that one would have to arrange the music themselves if we wanted to do this and it would likely end up a modular feature.
I'm not going to pretend to be Lui37 here and tell you whether this gets the green light or not, but I will say that if you want an MSU1 version bad enough, it'd be best to steal the baseROM from Lui after everything's ready for release, arrange the music yourself, deal with the freespace limitations in place and install the patch yourself, and release your own version.
Anything like this that may further hold up the project will be stuff that people will have to do on their own time. The current staff behind SMWCP2 has been trying for years to just get this thing released.
Now, all that being said, I do have a major question that I feel can fit in the space of this thread. Would I have clearance to snag some of the music from the Base ROM and use it for myself? I ask because many of the songs haven't been uploaded to the music section, and I'm not sure where everyone stands on the matter. If I do use it, I'll be sure to attribute the work to its creator, of course.
I've become very grumpy these last few years, and have been biting my tongue here in SMWC's forums quite a bit. I just want to let you all know that if ever I come off as harsh, I still care about you all. You guys are great.
