I think the first part of the loop might be the problem, something about it doesn't sound quite right. It's not quite as excited as the song expects itself to be. The low steel drums for the lead are probably contributing to that. I'd recommend working out the melody a little more; it's a nice song, albeit disjointed.

e: Also you should add panning to Escape!. Having everything in the center makes it sound muddy.
