Exactly as the title suggests, I'd like to know what you're favorite lines are from anime/manga characters. Please give the quote, which character it's coming from and the name of the anime/manga in question. More than one quote is acceptable.
Mine would be:
"I'm not just diving into the jaws of danger, I'm jumping down it's throat and ripping it's guts out with my teeth!" (paraphrased)- Ryuko Matoi from Kill La Kill
"Kick reason to the curb and do the impossible! That's the way team Gurren rolls!"- Kamina from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (I could have put all sorts of Gurren Lagann quotes in here but I decided to go with this one)
"This world is far too small for me. The sun in the sky is only barely adequate. When I watch the sun make it's ascent across the sky, it reminds of just how grand I truly am. The sun acts as a mirror to my own greatness." (paraphrased)- Oudo Miyakonojo from Medaka Box.
"I'd rather be a monster... than be like you!"- Medaka Kurokami from Medaka Box (referring to the guy who said the quote just above this one)
"You know fleas, yes? Those tiny insects? Even though we humans are giants to them, they still attack us. Would you say that is courage? No, the flea does not possess courage. Then what is courage? Courage is to know fear! To master it and make it your own! Fear throws off your breathing. But when you conquer fear, the cadence of your breath will remain even and won’t be disturbed. The ripple technique’s breathing is the product of courage! An ode to humanity is an ode to courage! The glory of humanity is the glory of courage! No matter how strong the zombies may be, they do not know courage! They are no different from a flea!" William Antonio Zeppeli from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
"Drown in your own ideals and die, you worm." Archer from Fate/Stay Night
"I've never fired a gun before, but somehow I don't think I'll miss at this range."- Takashi Komuro from Highschool Of The Dead (while pointing a gun at someone's chest point blank)
"I watched an anime once - dude pulled a gun at the start of the episode, fired it at the end, and everything in between was angst! I wouldn't mind, but he missed! Judge Dredd could have nuked a city in the fucking commercial break."
- Yahztee on his review for the Anime game "Catherine"
"...Alright, I was cool with the Immortal Witch premise, I was cool with the magic glowy eye powers, I was cool with Nina humping a table; but that was fucking stupid!"
- Code MENT - Episode 16; an Abridged series of Code Geass
"These small fights are such a pain. I think I’ll just end the world." - Othinus (To Aru Majutsu no Index)
one second later, the universe was gone :D
"Those who shoot must be prepared to get SHOT!" - Zero (Code Geass)
"Pirates are evil? The Marines are righteous? These terms have always changed throughout the course of history! Kids who have never seen peace and kids who have never seen war have different values! Those who stand at the top determine what’s wrong and what’s right! This very place is neutral ground! Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it will! Whoever wins this war becomes justice!" - Donquixote Doflamingo (One Piece)
"Sorry. Our world isn't as nice a place as yours. When it comes to war and killing, we have far more expertise than you do." - Sora (No Game No Life)

... what even am I doing with my life?
Those are definitely some darn good quotes! Sora from No Game No Life is surprisingly charismatic and eloquent for a supposed NEET who openly disdains social skills. That speech he made when he was crowned king of the Imanity being the most noticeable example. Here's some more good ones:
"Enough philosophizing for tonight. Let's ask the real hard questions with our fists!"- Uryuu Minene from Mirai Nikki
"I strive for something beyond the strongest! That challenging me would be the most ridiculous thought ever! That fighting me would be an unforgivable sin!"- Accelerator from A Certain Magical Index
You're you. "To be like you..." - it's not so ambiguous as that. No matter what you do, no matter how you change, it doesn't mean a thing. you're just you, no matter what.
~ Your Lie in April; Kaori Miyazono
Sometimes good people make bad choices. It doesn't mean they are bad people. It means they're human.
~ Tokyo Ghoul; Kishou Arima
No matter what kind of past you had, don't lose sight of yourself.
~ Angel Beats!; Ayato Naoi
The world is beautiful. Even if you’re full of tears and sadness, open your eyes. Do what you want to do. Be what you want to be. Find friends. Don’t be in a hurry to grow up. Take your time.
~ Clannad; Ichinose Kotomi’s parents
It's better to be hurt than to hurt others. Nice people can be happy with just that.
~ Tokyo Ghoul; Ken Kaneki
Isn't it funny how the most unforgettable scenes can be so trivial?
~ Your Lie in April; Kousei Arima
A famous person once said "Nothing in life can be considered right". In other words, it means everything in life is wrong!
- Itoshiki Nozomu, Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei (episode 9 i think)
"All the evils in the world, hah! You'll have to bring thrice as much if you want to stain me!" Gilgamesh from Fate/Stay Night
"The one thing you decide for yourself. That's the truth of your universe." Kamina from Gurren Lagann
"I don't want to follow her down into Hell, so that means I have no choice but to pull her out of Hell!" (paraphrased) Touma Kamijou from A Certain Magical Index
"In heaven's steed we smite clothing!" Ira Gamagoori from Kill La Kill
"I am the Conqueror of Chaos. Purgatorial hellfire dancing in the abyss, distorting black flame in turbid crimson darkness, the light that leads to the madness, screams, and destruction, admonishing sin with sin: gouge your dark fragment in my body, and bare your fangs against arrogant providence! Dark and Dark!" Jurai Andou from Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de
"There is but one truth in this world, only those things which I deem beautiful may exist." (paraphrased) Ragyo Kiryuin from Kill La Kill
『...That's no good. You can't just throw randomly, you have to aim for a vital spot. Like so.』(paraphrased) Kumagawa Misogi from Medaka Box (just before stabbing himself through the side of the head with a palette knife)
"You see, I don't think i ask much from these developers; from these pity little developers that put something out on steam and then I have a go at it and then they have their little tantrums. Digital homicide is not the only one; they are the loudest, but look: I don't ask much from you people, okay?
Just let me break you!
yeah? Its really not so bad, I just want to break you down into small, tiny little pieces and then build you up into something that's grateful and terrified and inspired and horrified by me! That's all I ever asked, and its really not a big ask, is it? Just let me break you so that one day, while you cower, terrified, and weeping in the corner, you look up to the sky and you thank God for me!
"Humans are weak... and because of that weakness they can act selfishly... and let fear guide their decisions. But why should I let the way they live affect my choices? You see... even if I'm struck with a thousand setbacks, nothing will ever convince me to alter the way I live... my life!" Klaus Von Reinherz from Block Blockade Battlefront
"Death, oh death! How ephemeral a thing, so brief and defined, this terminal predestination of man. However, I don't see that as a tragedy. Death is the ultimate privilege of the living, to exist beyond reason, roving lost and listless in the confines of infinity. Yes, be grateful for your fleeting nature." William Macbeth (AKA
King Of Despair
) from Blood Blockade Battlefront
That speech practically sent shivers down my spine. I actually had to check to see if he was quoting from Shakespeare or something, but no it seems to be original.
"Why do all these messages have like 96 upvotes? I've never gotten that many"
"heheh, cause you don't put down like dumb-fuck memes, that's why you don't get any upvotes."
"I put down witty things!"
"...di- did i say witty things or dumb-fuck memes?"
-A question by Yahtzee, answered by his friend Gabriel during his LP of Dark Souls 2
"Your truth can be changed simply by the way you accept it. That's how fragile the truth for a human is." -Kozo Fuyutsuki, Neon Genesis Evangelion
"I hate myself. But... but maybe... maybe, I could love myself. Maybe, my life could have a greater value. That's right! I am no more or less than myself. I am me! I want to be myself! I want to continue existing in this world! My life is worth living here!" -Shinji Ikari, Neon Genesis Evangelion
"But ambiguity only causes me more pain. It scares me. Because I don't know if everyone will stop wanting me again. I feel awkward, and uneasy. Let me hear your voice! Don't leave me! I'm begging you! Please, care about me!" -Shinji Ikari, The End of Evangelion
"Pathetic." -Asuka Langley Soryu, The End of Evangelion
"Eventually, I'll be betrayed, and it will abandon me. But still, I want to see them again, because at the time, I know my feelings were real." -Shinji Ikari, The End of Evangelion
"Anywhere can be paradise, as long as you have the will to live. After all, you are alive, so you will always have the chance to be happy. As long as the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth exist, everything will be all right." -Yui Ikari, The End of Evangelion
Lelouch/Zero from Code Geass has tons of great lines, to the point where it's hard to pick just one or two examples (seriously, this guy is a veritable fountain of gloriously hammy dialogue). I'll do my best to provide what I thought were some of his most memorable ones (at least so far, I'm up to the first episode of R2 as of today):
"Those with power, fear us! Those without it, rally behind us! We of the Black Knights will be the ones to pass judgement upon this world!"
"If being powerless is so terribly wrong, then does having power alone make you right?"
(When ordering his military force to fight in a seemingly unwinnable battle) "Even messiahs need to perform miracles if they are to be acknowledged. Therefore we have to produce our own miracle, don't we?"
(To C.C) "You are not alone. We are each other's accomplice, therefore if you are supposed to be a witch, then perhaps I should be a demon."
"I never touched the multiplayer mode in Spec Ops: The Line, but it still offends me, because I know effort had to be spent on it that could have been spent on rendering more dead civilians."
- Yahtzee Croshaw discussing his reasoning behind why he thinks the plot is what holds back Freedom Planet (a anime-isque art style game) from being a "perfect" game
"It's like idly browsing a Youtube channel full of clips of attractive women blowing out birthday candles, and coming slowly to the realization that you're looking at someone's jerk-off material."
- Yahtzee Croshaw describing his feeling of the story in Freedom Planet in relation to the designers of the game. It gives the vibe that the story was more interested by the creators themselves than it ever felt for the players.
