Last summer, I showed off a two world demo of what was at the time a side-project that I worked on when I needed a break from Kola Kingdom Quest and felt like doing something more vanilla. When Kola Kingdom Quest was completed and released late in February, Super Mario World: Bowser's Cataclysmic Trap graduated from side-project to main project and has been worked on ever since. Now, it's complete and ready to play, but first, enjoy some preview screens.

WORLD 1 - PISTACHIO PLAINS
The adventure starts off in your typical grassland, although there are a couple forest-themed levels to change things up just a little.



WORLD 2 - COCONUT COAST
There's no time to relax on this beach! There are Koopas to stomp and fish to fry!



WORLD 3 - COOKIE CAVERN
Will you find any treasure in this massive cave? Probably, but you'll also find plenty of Bowser's minions.




WORLD 4 - JELLY JUNGLE
It's a jungle out here, and it's littered with ruins and monsters!



WORLD 5 - MOCHA MOUNTAIN
Grab your climbing gear! Things are starting to get rocky!



WORLD 6 - PEPPERMINT PEAK
Brrrr! It's starting to get more than a little nippy. Be careful on the ice!



WORLD 7 - CREAMPUFF CLOUDS
The icy summit of a mountain just isn't high enough, so it's time to take to the skies!




WORLD 8 - NEOTAME NETHERS
You've finally reached Bowser's Empire of Ash....His Bastion of Brimstone...His Kingdom of Desolation! He's not asking for deliverance, but Luigi is!

Lord Bowser, perhaps you should hack the hack so Mario will receive poison shrooms of purple death in the bonus game.

And since when does the King of the Koopas live in a van? Did Peach finally agree to move in and promptly kick you out?

I was testing a beta of this hack and I enjoyed it. While the levels are usually short, SMW-like length, they are well made. Good job!
If Nintendo was to turn any of SMWC's hacks into real games, they'd be most certainly yours. Everything feels so legit. I love the integration of vanilla graphics, and the custom ASM really makes it an interesting experience. Good job; I appreciate your motivation to start and finish projects so polished like this!

Drag your CLEAN ROM to ROMclean and then patch the game to that.

The Red Dot Was Missing After Clear Cookie Cavern 5.
Thanks for pointing that out. That happens because the tile is set to reveal on Event 0x18 aka the event that activates after getting the secret exit in Cookie Cavern 3. Making a tile reveal on multiple events is a little more complex than just setting a reveal event in the tile's settings. You have to use Layer 1 Event mode for the second reveal.

Can't this be done by just holding ctrl and selecting multiple events to reveal the level tile, like this?

Otherwise the game is excellent, congratz !
That was intentional. Overworld path reveals have a history of glitching up when they span multiple submaps. I wanted to play it safe.

If you want to use events on other submaps, you just need to make sure the event that takes place on a different submap is a Silent event. The LM help file has more information on this.
