Hack 3 is a ROM hack of the 1990 Nintendo game Super Mario World. It plays similarly to a typical Mario platformer, except that every level has a unique obstacle to overcome, which is explained to the player as they start.
As suggested by the title, it is the third entry in the Hack series. If you are interested in checking those out, they can be found here:
I have just finished playing this hack and all I can say is that it was a great experience playing. Each level had its own unique gimmick (though I could clearly see some recycling of previous ideas from the other two hacks in the series that you have made; albeit applied differently) and each level had a diverse level design which melted in positively with the gimmicks. The only thing I could question is the placement of a few stars, but I was smart enough to figure out most of the places.
Good work! So... is this the end of the "Hack" line of hacks? Or will there be more?
What to heck is that roleplayer ending, I was expecting to play some gimmicky levels and not re-experience star trek.
I didn't even notice there were green stars in the first two levels I played. Then the next few I thought there's only 1 per level and was glad I "found all of them".
Then I suddenly find 2 in the same level and am confused. Only after that did I notice you can talk to the Lumas in the Info level (and that it actually isn't empty!) and learn that each level has 3.
