Quite sure it would count as stealing.

Yes, it should matter. Original soundtracks always add uniqueness to the hack, and the author may not have released it because he wants his hack to be more unique.
Have you ever tried to rip a hack SPC on the tool? :P

Not sure if you're talking to me or Sokobansolver, but I did (just as a test, I won't use it). Was something supposed to happen or am I just a derp?
Also, a bug: if you open the SPC, then click export but click "cancel" in one of the boxes, SPC Dumper will crash.
Probably the SPC you tried is so old that it used a pure Addmusic, that is, an Addmusic with no MORE.bin inserted, so techinically it will be a SMW track, not a Addmusic track, so my tool won't block them. I assume that's not a problem I guess since these type of ports are rare and obviously ancient enough to people don't care anymore.

About the crashes I will see, the "play analysis" one should be because of the semi-unstable player the tool uses while the second one should be simple enough to fix. Either way, they're not major at least.

By the way, if anyone find a rather poor conversion and you think it's possible to make the tool process it better (that is, the song don't use insane methods like changing envelope 500 times per note or full of legato), feel free to link it here and I will take a look when possible and/or give possible workarounds.

Oh and thanks for the comments. This tool was pretty hard to code and I'm happy that most people liked them. Honestly I thought half of the community would hate me for releasing such tool but apparently I'm wrong (I hope).

Don't forget to put a thread in "Resource and Tool Release".
Is the "Play analysis" supposed to reflect what the song will sound like when ever it is actually inserted via Addmusic, because even on 30 second long songs, I get some weird SPC's rather than what I heard on the "play analysis".

--------------------
Your layout has been removed.
Nope, "Play analysis" will actually play the initial DSP traces. It's useful to detect if the song does some real time ARAM edits that may reflect on song output, like the "on the fly" samples. So if "play analysis" sound different from original SPC, either the game does something weird with ARAM, either the traces are inaccurate or your SPC player is inaccurate.

You got that weird blip too, I tested vitors tool last night.
The song plays pretty well, after the song loops, the octave goes abit too high and settles back down after 5 seconds.

I wanted to use this as a main ow theme but not as it currently stands right now.
Vitor would you mind if I pm the mml so you can see what might be happening ?
In the mean time I'm gonna figure data east samples during next next and determine what instrument they are before I use it elsewhere.

Place $EE $00 on start of each channel, it should fix it. The tool doesn't insert it automatically since there's no looping code yet.

Sweet I'll put it in tomorrow sometime, by the looks of the tool itself.
You really took your time with it while coding it.
I couldn't even imagine how many times you slammed your head on the desk to the aggrevation of at all.
Given your tool provided I'll still port the old fashion way for custom porting and not direct rip.
The samples provided though, yeah I have some use for it.

Later.

THIS TOOL IS SOO GOOD OH MY GOSH I LOVE IT! #w{<3}
You have really outdone yourself with this tool.

This is useful not just for songs but also for miscellaneous songs that haven't been ported yet and possibly even sound effects.

I even managed to get a few sound effects with this tool. Of course, they won't be able to use custom samples but they sound fine with the normal samples.

Thank you for your hard work. #ab{:)}
Is there a way to export a song without samples?
No, but nothing stops you from deleting the samples later and editing #samples and #instruments to make your song unsampled.
