I find that putting foreground objects into the background is kind of confusing for the player. Other than that it looks okay.
It looks fine to me so far.

But holy shit the audio was so loud. And I just happened to be wearing headphones, so rip.
End of this message.
Looks nice.

But, as Final Theory said, BG objects are blending with the FG. I suggest you to change the palette and use colored outlines.
Jeez, Mario sure must have a big ego if he's in the title, two times. The audio there is pretty loud, there's an unedited message, the overworld is just plain unfinished, the BG blends into the FG a bit too much, as well as ending abruptly. Then there's the "castle of dark" (Shouldn't it be "Castle of Darkness"? There's also no need to hide when it's Dark outside!), which is fine. This is one really unfinished hack at the moment.
I have a DeviantArt, if you do want to see my art on there. I don't really visit it much now, though.
Thank you so much for the feedback guys, I'll work on the background, and take your guys advice. Sorry about the song, I had copyright issues so I just picked that one. It's been a while since I have done SMW hacking, and I appreciate your help so much. #smw{:peace:}
There's nothing wrong with putting foreground objects into the background. The problem is that it stands out very much, but that can be fixed with some palette changes, so no problem.
To make them stand out less, I usually try not to use dark outlines. A dark green or yellow instead of black should do it for you.
Another way is to make the colors similar to the back area color. To do this easily, I usually use Lunar Magic's gradient feature. While it is not very good for actual gradients, it's good for blending colors. Basically, make a gradient from your colors to your back area color. I suggest experimenting with your gradient length until you get some good colors.
I suggest combining both ways.
Lastly, your colors seem to be... a bit boring. This image helped me very much, so I think it will be helpful to you too. And something that's not included in that image: in your gradients, darker colors should be less saturated and brighter colors should be more saturated.
Okay, from the link, the music is still kind of loud, but it's fitting, since it's mostly Mario Music. First we have SMW2: Yoshi's Island World 1 Level Select theme, and then.. Spiralmouth does the Super Mario Bros 2 theme? And then.. The M&L:BIS final boss theme? What? The Fort of Secrets is not really the final castle in the game, is it? But I do like the Priority effects, but it just ends abruptly with cutoff at the end. I don't know what the last song is, though. Also, the overworld looks much more finished, but what's with the sole island with the numbers on it? Is it going to have a world selection one like when you start the game in the SMW NES bootleg? But it's looking much more finished than before.

The last song played is the final boss theme from Bomberman Hero. Sorry about the volume, I'll try to fix the volume next video. The Fort of Secrets isn't the final level. It's actual the first fortress and you find it by getting a secret exit. That's how I came up with the name Fort of Secrets. The world selection is called the Island of Selection. You unlock a warp by beating the final level of each world, or maybe by getting a secret exit. I might have to do it as a secret exit but I'll put a key and keyhole at the beginning of the level and explain why.
That overworld is pretty nice, but I have a few complaints about it:
The boring colors thing I mentioned before also applies here.
This isn't a complaint, but a suggestion: I think you could add some height variation in it. Again, this is just a suggestion. I just think that it'd be nice.
The first level reminds me of the first level in MGU1. Memories...

It's fine as long as it's easy to see what's solid and what's not. The rest is fine, but the OW palette is a bit dull I think. Try to make it more colourful.

And, yeah I know this has been mentioned, but the music is pretty much ear-rape. It's way too loud. It's okay to keep it in the background or just to have sounds from the game.

I am not able to record the sound, but the music for the second is loud even with my headphones on. I'll and make it quieter.

Remember when Levelengine said "Ear Rape should be banned"?

You can use Audacity to lower the volume of the music.

Overworld is Ok, superbot12. Has this hack got custom music? And how many levels and worlds has it?
Who is your favourite player?

"Cristo Ronaldo, Suey!" - iShowSpeed
Yes the hack will have custom music. I've already inserted about 12 different songs. The hack will have 8 or 9 worlds in it, and each world will have about 8 or 10 levels each.
Hey guys! I have almost finished Level 1-1 and the World 1 castle. :D However, I need a font that I can use for in-game cutscenes. It has to be a simple, easy-to-read font. Do you guys where I can find such a font?

Possibly this font?

Thank you cheeyev for finding this! Much appreciated! #ab{:LOL:}
Hey guys, I have updated the thread. You can now signup for World 1 levels. Here is the current Guidelines/Disclaimers.
