Enter the Public Relations Team - Announcements

A few years back we had the idea to start up a Public Relations forum. The idea behind it was to help bring together SMW Cental and other communities. And while this did help bring in some new affiliates, the drive behind this failed and overall the PR section kinda died off. In the end we now have affiliates we don't communicate with and our own community that that feels disconnected with the staff.

Believe me, we do read the posts we get from the staff feedback page. One of them caught our attention and pointed a lot of potential that the forum could actually be used for, and we are acting on that. Over the next week or so, expect an overhaul with the Public Relations department. One of the first changes is our New PR Team.

Among this team, Eternity, K3fka, ninja boy and newcomer NoelYoshi will be helping take care of all site related events; putting together contests, events and other community related projects. Their main job will be to help bridge that gap that members of the community feel is there between them and staff as well as other communities. Within the next week expect these guys to announce some of their plans.

Congratulations to NoelYoshi, I just knew he would get something like this. He deserved it.

I'm so glad that this finally happened. NoelYoshi, I and a few others have been pushing for this for a while and I'm really happy that he ended up on the team.

Having known Ninja Boy ever since he first started out on YouTube what must be around 8 years ago now, it's nice to see he's still around and still an active member of the community. I know the PR Team is in very capable hands with him alone. I'm yet to see how the other three will fare (I've not been engaging with the community much as of late) but I'm sure the decisions have been well thought out.

I'll be keeping an eye on the SMWC YouTube, especially. And given that I want to start my own gaming board soon, it would be great to have an active PR Team to get on board as an SMWC affiliate.

Glad to hear it, Joey. I think we are also looking forward to getting some cross-site events going, to actually make use of having affiliates. I've made an account on the SMBX forums (well, "made" as you know the story

) and introduced myself there, and hopefully the other members of the PR team will follow suit.

It's pretty much my fault that the last iteration of the PR team didn't work out, and I really regret the way things went down, especially near the end. I am sorry.

But I am very glad to see that there is a new team of people, and I know all of them and know that they will do a great job!

You shouldn't blame yourself, no one was doing anything for the PR back then despite our efforts to make it active, and not much was done after you left either (Ninja Boy took care of the Youtube news for a while but that's about it). If anything it's everyone's fault, including mine because I was in charge back then.

But yeah, it's good to see this is finally going to breath some life.
