Tip: Switch palace switches normally disappear if you replay the level. However, if you insert them as direct Map16 and use the hex-edit at $00EEB2 in the ROM map, you can replay the level without a problem.Not logged in.

sorry about the bump but I already PMed two separate people about this and I haven't gotten any helpful answers

so I'm using Mathos' SA-1 conversion of the patch. the songs that AMK considers "global" (01-09) never play, despite me having valid PCM files for them (I can import them into Audacity with the right settings). The local songs play just fine, though, so I don't understand the issue. I tested in both Snes9x and Higan and the results are the same, so it isn't the emulator's fault here. How might I be able to fix it?

(E) I also had a question about sample rates. I want to use music from Super Paper Mario in my hack, and it stores most of its music at 22050hz, which is half the rate that it forces you to store it at in this tutorial. Is there a way I can get the source files to convert to the right rate? This method effectively doubles the size of the PCMs.
That was an illegal left by the way!!
I have a ROM with SA-1 installed. How can I install MSU-1 patch please?

I'm Flandre Scarlet!.
does it work for SNES9X?

SNES9x supports MSU-1 since version 1.55 so yes, it does.

Okay, my layout looks ugly.
Does it work for bsnes? #smw{o_O?}

I can't test because I have a really crappy computer, but since it's just an older version of Higan, I'd assume so.

EDIT: Not gonna bother seeing if it's allowed to double post, but I made a batch program that might help with the creation of a PCM.
Code
@echo off
:start
echo Filename without extension?
set /p file=ANSWER
cls
echo Loop? Y/N
set /p answer=ANSWER
if answer==y goto loop
if answer==n goto noloop
:noloop
cls
wav2msu %file%.wav
goto continue
:loop
cls
echo Insert sample number here.
set /p looptime=ANSWER
wav2msu %file%.wav -l %looptime%
goto continue
:continue
cls
echo Anything else? Y/N
set /p repeat=ANSWER
if repeat==y goto start

Did I mention that I make comics?
Please excuse the HTML at the top of my posts.
I'll need to put the MSU-1 song file separately from the .Zip that has my romhack? Where can I put it?
Anyways, if this is CD-music quality, I'll finally be able to have Despacito, Sicko Mode and Post Malone - Wow in my romhack (Jk, I'll put other songs xd)

RIP my friend's Ridley, he dropped it cuz I combo'd him a bit tol much as Mario.
good, i will do that in my Super Mario CD project (which is part of Nintendo CD)

Bumping this because it has a bunch of inaccurate info. The auxiliary file setup is different for all non-Higan emulators (bsnes is compatible, yes):

"msu1.rom" is instead "(romname).msu" (still just an empty file)
"track-##.pcm" is instead "(romname)-##.pcm" (still in decimal)

This is all that is actually needed, and the ROM doesn't need to be headerless either. Just make sure everything is in the same folder.

Annoyingly there is still no functioning SA-1 option for this. The conversion found a few posts back is bugged and won't play global songs. Does the normal version of this patch still work on SA-1 by chance? The limitation is quite annoying.

Hi guys. Please. I've two problems with the MSU-1.

- When I use the P-Switch, the music of the level won't resume after the end of the P-Switch music.

- When I push Start and Select to exit a level and by selecting a level on the map, sound effects won't resume in a level.

What must I do to fix these?

Currently working on The Mario's Greatest Adventure. My next projects will be The Mario & Stitch vs. Devil Ztar Trilogy (MSU-1 only with some SPC) and The Mario's Greatest Adventure CD (MSU-1 only). My list of music request is in my bio. List Graphics

That, is the same problem that I have too.
Try using spc on the songs.

On newMSUPatch you see a list of hex edits

$00 = does not play at all
$03 = plays msu1
$02 = plays spc700
$01 = does not loop msu1

Find the p switch hex edit and change that from $03 to $02

It's doing the same thing.

How would I go about adding MSU-1 sound effects such as jumping, spin jumping, etc.?

Also, when using a P-Switch, the p-switch music never stops looping. The level's normal music never comes back, unless for example you pick up a star.

The starman music ends correctly, but the p-switch doesn't. Any fix for this?
