I'm sure the majority of you know this already, but in case you don't, Finale is a Notepad-esque program, where you are given blank measures in which you write music on. You can have up to 8 separate staves as far as I know, which makes for a lot of combinations. Believe it or not, I only recently discovered this program, and being the avid music enthusiast that I am, I had to download it. I made my first creation based off of one of my hack's tunes, for practise:

Song 1: Keytastrophe Mainland
Song 2: The Renegade of Lamentando

I'd like to keep posting more here, as I am finding this rather fun. If you have any songs you have created that you would like to share, feel free to post them here.

(by the way, if anyone who has used this tool a lot knows how to make the song loop back to the start, I'd love to know.)
Wow, this sounds amazing! I don't seem to be able to use 4 instruments and still have it sound good... Here's one I created some time ago, which sounds a little bland compared to yours. I already showed you, but some maybe some others haven't heard it yet. Yes, it's a Youtube video, as I don't have the original file anymore.

To bad I don't have it, so I can't listen to your song, SNN ;_;. I usually use this instead, so if I make a good song, It'll save as a midi so I can port it to SMW :P.

I use noteworthy composer, which also creates MIDI's for the same exact reason as Zd2. I've used it since I was 10, so I know the program in and out. :P

Finale Notepad 2008 can also export MIDIs. I even tried to make custom music for my hack with Finale, but didn't turn out well. Also, I kinda suck at composing. Every good melody I came up with is a result of randomly clicking around.

I made this in about 30 minutes :D

WYE: I remember seeing that a while ago, and I complimented on the quality. Nice work with it.

Zd2: Not bad, though kind of short. I guess it's supposed to be though.

As for me, I did up another song in Finale.

The Renegade of Lamentando.

This is unusually fun >_>
I have done two classical remixes from game themes some time ago (SMB - Main Theme and Kid Icarus - Underworld so far), but using Sibelius 3. I know and have Finale though, but not installed on my PC.

Gotta try it.
Hi, I like the "Keytastrophe Mainland", I think it can be used as a strong chorus but it needs a middle section.

I took the liberty to write something in 10 minutes, hope you like it :). It is a bit too short, but maybe with some extra 8 measure it would be almost the same size as the initial section.

Since your main melody revolves around D-G, in this little section I go from D to A, creating a new element.

You can also create more interest by varying the main theme/ostinato, because when you compose with restricted harmonies/ranges like this, you can spice things up using some simple variations, especially rhytmic ones.

Keytastrophe Mainland with experimental middle section

Here's one my friend and I created last week. Actually we came up with the melody years ago, but we recently made a .mus file out of it. Download? Here.
(Ignore the text below the notes, it doesn't make sense anyway...)

Wow. I just downloaded the program, and... I love it. Here's my first (stupid) attempt at composing music with it.

(Ignore garbage in the song name, I don't know how to change it!)
Daaa77: I can't download the song, can't you upload it to a different site?

I made a new small song some minutes ago. I even tried to port and insert it, but it didn't sound good - it was way too bland. However, the .mus and .mid files sound much better (I prefer the .mid though).

Download: .mus file --- .mid file

Ignore the name "rocky", I couldn't think of any other title...
