My Backloggery

Checked out the SMM Bookmark thing and I noticed that they now have a Super Expert difficulty.
Finally got all costumes in the game

It was tough but fun. I might go on to Splatoon because i got the game but haven't played it yet.
It'd be cool if Super Mario Maker had palette changeability. The only problem is that people who can not understand how a palette is bad or good may make a hideous palette.

Looking forward to the new update, it will really fit my upcoming SMW-type levels! Keys are very welcome, and pink coins will make a good substitute for yoshi-coins :)
I can do Super Expert Mode, but i'm just too lazy even if its just 6 levels
Guys, I was gonna attempt to recreate Bowser's Castle from Mario 3, and not being entirely familiar with the level, how do you access Door B, and is the room it leads to an underwater section? Never have really seen it utilized; well, I've never really seen anything but the Door D route utilized.

I've already remade that level

1. Its not underwater selection 2. You get to the grey area from the door A and C, door B just leads you back to the start point.

Plus if you are gonna remake level its better to fully play the original level yourself(especially if you aren't familiar with the level) than just stare at the map(and some maps can be inaccurate too) so that your remake doesn't end up being half-assed.

Thanks.

So it's essentially a troll room.

I'll definitely play yours just to see how you replicated some of the SMB3 features not present in Mario Maker.
Just played it; nice job. I think you missed the laser effect on one of the Bowser statues and I wonder if the Thwomp in the troll room is supposed to move left and right or if it just sits there to block you.

Overall, on Nintendo's behalf, this is one of the weakest and most disappointing final levels ever.

---

I actually went ahead and created it: 002E-0000-0231-58B4

It is still faithful and built nearly identically to the original, but there are a good number of changes that make this lame excuse for a final level in one of the greatest video games ever better.
I think of making this section more active with posting newer updates, maybe a few links or levels to check out and some other stuff.

Any thoughts on that?
I'm thinking of creating SMW-themed levels, each with its own gimmick or mechanic, and I'll call the series "Superstar Marathon." Each level would have a name similar to how the levels were named in the special world of SMW. I'll have "Fresh," "Heavy," "Far-out," "Radical," "Super-fly," "Wicked..."
Shaun the Sheep is coming to Super Mario Maker on June 3.

More info

Though it may seem like a joke, it's not. This is definitely the strangest crossover I've ever seen in Super Mario Maker because Shaun the Sheep has absolutely nothing to do with Nintendo. (I know thare are other costumes that have nothing to do with Nintendo, but still.) A little off topic, but I also remember watching Shaun the Sheep when I was little, I used to love that show.

Discuss!

I like the idea of expanding the special world in SMW and giving the levels appropriate names. Really, when I first heard of Super Mario Maker I hoped that it would result in new great levels for my favourite Mario games. I'm soon posting my first 2 levels (out of 4) in my SMW-world "Hot Dog Garden".

What's wrong with that? I think, it's refreshing, seeing people, that are actually building levels that are inspired by the original games #tb{:D} . All I see in Mario Maker, most of the time, are often trolls, gimmckfilled or hardcore courses, that make me cry my soul out #tb{:(} . Mario Maker really needs more "normal" stuff.

And it's a good way to learn and understand level design in general I think (as long as the good levels are choosen, also not "tubular" or something like that #tb{:p} ).

Im just saying SMW theme is most overused theme in SMM.

Aha... gotcha ^_^ ! Maybe mainly because many people are liked it the most? But I agree, the other styles need some more love (especially SMB3).

EDIT:
About the event level with Shaun... it's not good... like most of the event levels.

This one is especially not good because it has this one segment, were you need bumper to get higher while dodging missle bills. This segment is not only frustating, but there is a hidden ? block with a vine near the last line of brown blocks (were also a mushroom is hidden in). That's the way how they pass the level...

If a level has something like this, than it loses my respect.

That's interesting, in my personal experience I found SMW to be the least used theme, at least playing through random stages with the 100 Mario challenge. I found NSMBU to be the most overused theme when it comes to the general public's stages.
