I want to show another redone beach level, 2-6:







Now, i only need to redo 2-A (yes, 2-A, not 2-8) and redo one part of 2-Castle, in world 3 i made some small design changes in 3-1 and 3-2 and i will redo all the levels between those and the castle.

(I was mainly drawn to this by the use of the SMB3-style status bar.)

Before i showing progress in 2-A, i will talk about some minor edits in levels.

I made some minor changes in 3-1

I changed the sprite set in 3-2, and the second room has no more scrolling water.

Now, i must say that 3-6, 4-2, 5-2, 6-2 and 6-3 will be not redone anymore.
I will not show picos of 3-6 because i don't changed much on this level.
In 4-2 i removed that old and crappy tileset.

New tileset in 4-5

I removed that pointless pswitch run section in 5-2:

New palettes in 6-2 and 6-3




Now, i finished the work on 2-A Redesigns, there's an new ship level.

Music Used: the same one used in my 24hosmw entry.








This is the switch room, i actually played the level to take the screenshots after pressing the switch

This is an alt exit for who pressed the switch and want to play the level again


This looks really cool.
Maybe that water will look better with priority enlabed, but it's your choice.

Can't wait for more.

A bit of a stretch dont ya think? While it is a fact that predominantely ambitious rom hacks started by those without the technical expertise do not get finished most of the time, applying that to an entire community comes off a bit of a hasty generalization.

Now then GD, I really like that you are polishing up older levels made but I do hope that they are better than the originals and are worth your time as a developer and other peoples' time as players. My only concern is that there are levels that need not be remade because it was already a good level from the start.

Here in world 3 there are 4 levels that i will redo from scratch, the first one is 3-3

This is a level with some city aspects, like trees, chairs, grabage cans, pipelines, small lakes, electricity pylon and some houses(at the last part of the level)

The design has no problem, however the aesthetics... all is too grey and monotonous. You could try and give the floor or the houses a different color.

Please don't quote a post made in october by an inactive user, those penises was an old joke that i put in the third level, but i removed it later.


I want to show some progress on the next level that will be redone, 3-A: Magic Casino



The next redone level is 3-A, now is a casino level with magikoopas, it has two parts, the first one is simple, the second has a challenge, collect 99 coins.

This level is more a bonus than a shortcut level.

The next redone level is 3-5, formelly know as Dark Night, now know as Explosives Inc., it's a factory level with bombs, like 7-5.









Now, there's no more levels to be redone on this world, i made some insignificant changes in 3-1, 3-2 and 3-6, now, only rest two levels to be redone, 4-3 and 5-B, i made a lot of changes in world 4 levels, and i will show them later.

Also, i need some feedback, because i put a lot of effort on those two last levels.


The gimmick of the Casino is incredible! I liked the TNT in the "Explosives Inc.".

Well well well, let's see what we have here... Hmmm... Interesting. Those 2 last levels that you've made seem to be pretty fun to play through.

The aesthetics seem to be nice, the former seems to suffer from overdecoration just a little bit, but that's just me, although the latter seems to be the exact opposite: It seems to lack decoration, plus, judging by screenshots, the layout of the level itself looks like it's going to be flat and uninteresting. The palette looks a bit dull and generic. I mean, sure, the gimmick of the level is all about those exploding blocks from the Kirby series, however, you seem to have focused so much on the gimmick that you've forgot about the decoration, thus making the level feel very... Empty.

The casino level seems fun, although I hope the second part doesn't overstay its welcome. The graphics are nice, the palettes are good too, but, it looks like the aesthetics can get in the way while playing. I don't know how to explain it. The enemy placement on both levels doesn't seem to be dickish, so, yeah, that's definitely not a problem.

I'm sorry, but... Those two levels don't seem very interesting, each one being uninteresting in different ways.

I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but that's just my honest opinion. Anyway, good luck and keep up the good work.

How did you get the custom powerups' GFX working? I tried it in my SA-1 and non-SA-1 ROM but it showed glitched GFX. The forms were fine though. What did I do wrong? I don't wanna overwrite the original GFX. Also I can't see any penises in the third level. Is it that spike in the screenshot of the third level? I'm just curious, not trying to annoy you.
