Staff Spotlight - November 2015

Link Thread Closed
Looks like it's that time again. Are you excited? For November, we have MarioE, one of our returning staff members who has been a big help in the SMW blocks moderation.

Engage excitement:
Sixcorby Hi, MarioE!
MarioE hey!
Sixcorby How are things?
MarioE pretty decent, I guess. kinda bogged down in schoolwork right now, but that should pass soon hopefully
Sixcorby I hope so!

Sixcorby So, you've been on the staff team for a while. You left some time ago then recently returned.
Sixcorby How have you found your time on the team all together?
MarioE I left a while ago because I didn't really find much time to do anything
MarioE It's pretty enjoyable, though.
MarioE I get to help out with a site that I've, overall, probably spent way too much time on.
MarioE Plus, there's a bunch of cool people on the team as well, so that's nice
Sixcorby :>
Sixcorby I agree.

Sixcorby How did you find SMWCentral to begin with?
MarioE I'm not exactly sure at all... Google, perhaps?
MarioE Might've gotten here from another website. that was such a long time ago
Sixcorby I'm guessing it stemmed from an interest in SMW or level editing, or something of the sort.
MarioE Yeah, I always wanted to make my own levels.
MarioE Although I'm not as interested in level making as I used to be
MarioE Small-scale things like patches, etc. are more interesting for me, so that's what I've mostly done

Sixcorby Yes, ASM seems to be your passion in the hacking community.
Sixcorby How did you get into ASM?
MarioE I'm a really logic-oriented person.
MarioE I got into programming quite early as a middle-schooler
MarioE So I figured I'd try the more technical aspects here
Sixcorby Do you find there to be much of a difference between general programming and ASM for SNES games?
MarioE In terms of what you code, definitely.
MarioE You most likely won't be doing anything like quicksort or analyzing runtime complexity in ASM
MarioE The same sort of concepts that you apply in ASM can be applied to all languages, however
Sixcorby Good to know.

Sixcorby Do you have any projects you're working on that you'd like to share?
MarioE Not at the moment, no.

Sixcorby That's about it. Do you have anything else you'd like to add?
MarioE Nope, I don't think so
Sixcorby Alrighty. Thanks for your time!
MarioE You too! it was nice chatting with you
Sixcorby Was great talking with you as well.
/end excitement
Awesome! MarioE is one hell of a staff member. Congratulations!

Grats for getting the spotlight mang, you've been doing a nice job so far in the staff team!
Congratulations, you've earned it !
I'm really wondering, why does ALMOST EVERYONE in here shines about ASM? Oh come on.

It is really biased, and yeah. Just saying, though.
Please, SomeGuy712x...

no fun allowed
Isn't it strange how this is still stickied and that I can reply in it?
Unlike as member of the months, staff spotlights actually got changed mid-month instead at the beginning of them. Was changed a few month back.
Ah, I see. That makes sense then because there's only so many staff members.

Also I thought this was MotM for November... Whoops...
