I upgraded to Windows 10 and I can't revert back to Windows 7?! I'm screwed!

My sister accidentally upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 and I didn't want that. I've heard some bad news about Windows 10, saying that some programs don't work and it constantly crashes, people legitimately say that it's "crap."

Before I had the option to revert back to Windows 7, but I didn't because I wanted to give Windows 10 a chance and it takes about 2 hours to revert, I was impatient.

2 days later, I began to get annoyed with Windows 10 and I wanted to revert back to Windows 7, come to find out, I don't have the option anymore under Settings -> Recovery..?

I could've sworn that the option said Windows 10 will delete the Windows 7 backup after 30 days... only 2 days has passed though.

I've read some help guides and it said using any third-party cleaning programs such as DiskCleanup or CCleaner will delete your Windows 7 backup... is that true?

I didn't know that, I used CCleaner yesterday to clean up the junk files to empty some room in my Local Disk Drive, but the weirder thing is that I still have the "Windows.old" folder in my Local Disk Drive, yet I still can't downgrade..?

I haven't tested out any online games yet, I mean Super Mario World works fine and all, but ZSNES and ZMZ keeps crashing for no reason (it didn't do that in Windows 7). Not to mention I can't even record ZSNES with Fraps anymore?

Seeing some of these problems makes me think that a lot of potential problems will occur. Any help, suggestions or do any of you have Windows 10 and mind sharing the pros and cons, and am I worrying too much?

You can actually go to settings and reset or use control panel to restore back to Windows 7.
I've click the "Go to Backup and Restore (Windows 7)", but it says:

"Your last backup did not complete successfully. Your files have not been backed up."

And I can't click the "Backup Now" option.

I don't like Windows 10, in my opinion. It has a lot of security holes and it's pretty unstable when I tried it out. Felt like it was rushed.

As in options on how to revert back to it: torrents containing the OS usually does the trick and you will need to download the drivers yourself, but I can help with that. Reason why I say that is because you said that you can't revert back to Windows 7.

Make sure you have a USB flash drive or SD Card to backup your stuff first before restore back to Windows 7.
Maybe you should try dual-booting? Just in case you got annoyed by Windows 10, you can always visit Windows 7. Just place a separate partition then install 7 there. Simple.
Windows 10 needs two more (hidden) folders to do the rollback, $Windows.~BT and $Windows.~WS, which should be in C:/ (or whatever drive you installed Windows into), along with Windows.old.

I've heard that some people had problems reverting back from Windows 10 to Windows 7. If you really still want to go back to Windows 7, I'm afraid you might not be able to do it easily. The recovery options were the easiest way.

You'll need to backup your files, uninstall Windows 10 and install Windows 7 (you can download it from Microsoft's website if I remember correctly), then put the files back in again. You'll need to have your product key in order to do this. If this is your only option then I recommend staying with Windows 10 unless you really want Windows 7 back.

You'll likely not find any issues with Windows 10. Compatibility may be an issue, but it's a somewhat rare case. Most apps should work fine.

ZSNES? #tb{¬_¬} The more time passes, the less and less ZSNES will work properly. I've heard that FRAPS has some issues in Windows 10 which affects programs that aren't based on OpenGL or DirectX. ZSNES technically uses a version of DirectX, but it's so old I don't think it'll recognize it properly anymore.

It was quite bad when it first was released, but it's not as bad now. Most problems were fixed and future updates will probably fix more stuff.

I know (from experience) that recommending software alternatives isn't usually the OP's most desirable advice when asking how to fix a software issue, but I do have to agree that both ZSNES and FRAPS stink big-time. Any particular reason you're still using ZSNES anyway?

I'd recommend Snes9x in place of ZSNES: Though it isn't as accurate as bsnes, it can run quite well on older/slower PCs and I've never had any problems with it. If you don't want to learn a new GUI, there's always ZMZ instead.

I know it stinks to give up using a program if you purchased it, but I tried Fraps and it was absolutely horrible for me: couldn't get the FPS to not display over the video, frame skips everywhere, audio and video out of sync with each other, and the output files sometimes corrupted themselves and wouldn't even play. Try FFSplit; it's way better.

If you'd rather stick with your current programs, I understand completely, but I'm unsure of how to fix your issues with them any further.

before we start I gotta say the striked through option (The selected one) is NOT the correct one to search for the option to go back.

Opinion is subjective. In MY opinion, Windows 10 isn't THAT bad.
Please keep in mind it's a newborn OS... give it some time! (Treshold 2 update is already out...)

Latter: Yes. only if you don't select carefully what you'll delete.

Windows.old stores the backup of your previous operative system.
Windows 10 sets something --which I forgot-- that lets restore the settings and erase Windows 10 to rollback to your other OS.
However, --like when you install a Windows above another without formatting-- the Windows.old folder's OS cannot be accessed without the requeriment Windows 10 has...

FRAPS works quite well with Windows10... though ZSNES is kinda... uh
my personal recommendation is SNES9X
FLASH and HTML5 should work fine.

Friendly reminder: Windows 10 is very young.

Any help, suggestions or do any of you have Windows 10 and mind sharing the pros and cons,

Pros:
>The WinRT has been fixed, and now it has support for small screens (600px height)
>Got back our beloved start menu (?)
>The update is free from Windows 7-8.1 for the first year since release (Sep 29, 2015)
Cons:
-It's kind of BETA.
-Some users hate minimalism ¬_¬

Yeah you are, not like your PC is going to sprout legs and say F### U! then go to a lava pit.
You'll get used to it, don't worry.
