Description: Welcome to the second demo of Kaizo Mario X the improved kaizo hope you enjoyed the last one if you played it cause I rejected it but anyways this one is fresh and clean and has more levels but is still a demo so yeah but enjoy this lovely masterpiece that iv'e put together oh and the tutorial level is impossible to complete so yeah i forgot to test it before releasing this

1. You must test your hack before submitting.
2. Although there's nothing fancy here that would break on ZSNES, it's an emulator we no longer support, so please don't use it to test your hack.

Now for the hack itself. There isn't much to say here other than there isn't enough playtime or design quality in this hack for it to be accepted. It took me around 10 minutes to complete all 5 stages, and a good portion of the level design is very bland and doesn't contain much thought.


This, for example. This kind of endless precision jumping is neither fun or clever.


Using a star just to cross some munchers is also an uncreative obstacle. Not to mention that this obstacle is way too short; Mario still had over 10 seconds of star power left after I got through the munchers. Also, having a solid blue color as a background looks very weird.

I suggest you check out some of the kaizo hacks accepted to the section to get an idea of what our expectations are, because this hack does not meet them. Thanks.

Welcome to the 3rd demo now my last one got rejected and I made a new one iv'e tested everything and everything works iv'e made the levels longer and harder because they were to short but anyways enjoy and hope you enjoy

This is an improvement, but still needs a lot of work.

First off, the "Upcoming levels" stage is pointless, just have Mario start with stage 1.


We're not too strict with message boxes, but please don't say things like this in the hack.


Don't make your background out of foreground tiles like this; it's not pretty and it's very disorienting. It looks like you'd be able to stand on the grass and swim in the water, but you can't.


You did make this longer, but you didn't make it any more fun or creative. It's still nothing but running through munchers.


A graphical issue caused by sprite limits. (minor problem)


The jump right in front of Mario here can be made without this shell.


There isn't really much that's changed about this section other than some jumps are higher and more spread out. You did put in shell jumping, but there's still not much variety. The constant shell jumping is just another repeating element.


Again, don't create a background completely out of foreground tiles.


From the looks of this, I need to perform the glitch in which the P-switch and springboard, together, will cause Mario to glitch through the floor. This is a pit hack strategy, so please don't put it in your kaizo hack.


This quick layer 2 room is alright, but "Vertical scroll at will" is still enabled in this room, causing Layer 2 to move up with Mario, which will make him glitch into the Layer 2 foreground.


This background is ugly and is too bright for a ghost house. The obstacle seen in the second screenshot where you have to make the boo block follow you across the pit is very long and boring. Be careful with the green water as well. For visual appeal, it's already questionable by itself, but could easily be an eyesore with other colors in the palette.

Also, what's with the 999 time limit in some of these levels?

Again, this is better, but this hack still lacks variety and creativity. Try to think of more intricate obstacles, things that go beyond just precision jumping, shell jumping, or anything of the sort.

Major improvements when compared to the previous one, but still far from ready:

The "Start --->" level is pointless.


The edge above Maro and below the Green Switch have cutoff


Make sure the number of screens setting in your level agrees with the actual number of screens.


Most of these cement blocks can easily be replaced with dirt. Also the rope has some cutoff.


Don't use the bottom row of Lunar Magic, players cannot see that row while playing!


The depth perception in this picture is rather off.


It is possible to swim below the lowest row in Lunar Magic, swimming under any obstacle. If you are going to force people to do this for the secret exit (as you have), make sure that it doesn't completely allow players to bypass the regular level. Also all the corner tiles are incorrect. And what's with the background?


This is a direct copy from the original Kaizo Mario World.

Try not to have munchers that are attached only to other munchers.


Overall the levels are also not extremely difficult, I recommend fixing these issues and in the future submitting it as a Kaizo: Light hack.
