Would definitely be worth it to add some decoration to the foreground.

Also you might be using the wrong palette in the last screenshot, the tiles above the lava are oddly discolored.
Put some wall holes in the cross-section areas to break it up more visually.

That last screen looks extremely barren and the palette looks really gross. Change it up a bit and throw in more decoration.
I think that looks a little bit on the easy side for 4-4, considering the game only has 6 worlds.

yea, but I just started on it last night. and the castle part is kinda hard. But I will listen to you guys. #fim{<3} and the castle part I had thoughts of changing anyway. but thank you for the feedback so far.

Edit: is their a palette tool to anyone knowledge yet to change the green and fix the colors a little bit because the ideal of this level is like how I made it so far.

Since this is one collaborative ROM, I'd like to stray from changing anything that's more of a global nature such as palette colors that might ruin someone else's level. You are free to modify Milde boss in any way you wish, hit me up if you have any ideas for a custom boss that needs ASM, or even just graphical edits I'm cool with (to make her look like a princess #tb{^V^} )

Looks like you are off to a good start, but I'd say add more content for sure.

Might I suggest using palette 02 or 18 for the interior castle instead?
It's possible to fix the colors via spasm (levelasm), but if you can find a suitable palette that's already in the ROM it's probably better.

The shadows cast by the bricks on the wall are still bad looking.

Again, if you want something similar to what you had initially, go with palette 02. It's perfectly compatible with the brick castle foreground.

As for a title, how about "Grand Duchess Milde's Fort"?

What Layer 2 are you using?
castle webs and it's palette is 1B. I kinda like the pink it matches the ideal I want to make it as

You're using the wrong spriteset.
ah, damn I really like those pallete it matches the point of my level, but I guess I have no choice of changing them if it sears your eyes

I think it's pretty fun so far! I'm impressed. I know this is gonna seem like a lot of suggestions, but really they're mostly minor, I'm diggin' it overall. Loved the puzzle/platforming fusion which captures the spirit of YI well.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
-I'd like to see more stars, all I saw besides the midring which comes much later was I think one cloud? Maybe hide some hidden clouds or even visible ones around, or a crate or tulip or 2, dunno up to you.
-So I do agree with people above that your previous palette was rather
odd-looking, but I still agree with you that I wanna see some PINK, and I think there's a way to achieve that without hurting people's eyes #tb{^V^} This princess is obsessed with pink and that is the nature of this stage. Maybe talk to Lui about the custom palette through SPASM, cause he actually wrote something for that. All I will need at that point is your level_init code file along with your IPS.
-I kind of liked the notion 4-4 vanilla had about carrying multiple keys, if you'd like to use my 6 Keys patch feel free, and have 6 keys you need to get or even just the original 4, toy with the idea, let me know.


These bullet launchers were a fun idea to gain height, but I feel like this trampoline mildly defeats that purpose. I get that you were aiming to help them reveal the flower, but then the trampoline doesn't actually aid them in getting it. I suggest just an UP ARROW object in the background to hint at the flower.

I had no idea that lava was beneath, maybe make a raised platform of lava right here so that it's obvious right away, and then it can slowly layer downwards (not necessarily diagonally but perhaps in "steps") to meet with the lower level you want for the bucket section.

I can just look up here and look back down and get the flower & red coins because the mildes "despawn", LOL. To prevent this, maybe make it not go so high.


These two spots are holes and I'm not sure why? They lead to death, maybe either put something there or just ground...cause the curiosity got to me :P

Is this room incomplete? First of all it's just a bunch of nothingness down below, so yea curiosity got me again. Plus, the red coins are really tough to get with only 6 eggs, might wanna put some way of obtaining eggs in here (up to you how).

Just for noobs, might wanna put a horizontal stair cloud across the lava, maybe not the whole way but just something in between. Like yeah I can flutter over it easily but some may have trouble.

I feel like there's not enough time that the arrow cookie lasts for this section. Either make it shorter somehow or maybe change to the fast cookie, not sure.

Door spawns a bit above, awkwardly drops down on Yoshi.

This section has three Super FX sprites when the trampoline is bouncing, including the pinwheel (even if it looks offscreen it's still drawing) and chomp rock, which causes SUPER LAG. Maybe space that stuff out more to mitigate that lag.

All these little issues aside, I really like what you have so far and please keep up the good work!
