Wakana Hey there!~
Sixcorby How are you this fine day?
Wakana Pretty good, I'm working on some stuff right now
Sixcorby What kind of stuff?
Wakana right now, I'm messing some thingies in my hack, Super Wakana Land. Also, I'll probably continue a port I'm doing later
Sixcorby You're our newest hack moderator. How have you found that job so far?
Wakana I really like it!~ I must say I was pretty insecure when I went trough the first hacks, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually a fun job.
Sixcorby Indeed. First times are usually scary.
Sixcorby You've been doing great though!
Wakana Also, the other mods are always kind, so it was just a matter of days until I felt at ease.
Sixcorby You've also helped a bunch with the temporary hacks.
Sixcorby Did you have a favorite among all the hacks you went through?
Wakana Well, there are quite a few pretty good hacks there, and I'm not very sure about picking a favourite.
Wakana Maybe I'd go with Skewer's Twilight Gem, one of the hacks from the "Hunter and Scorpion's bet"
Wakana The graphic job there is stunning, and for a legacy hack, that is quite impressive
Wakana probably the first hack that even attempted a full "reskin" of SMW. It looks a really different game, and the atmosphere is well developed.
Sixcorby You're also into music porting. What got you into that?
Wakana I always liked VGM since I was a little kid, and on my first attempts at making a SMW hack, I always ended up in wanting to use a music, but it wasn't hosted in the site.
Wakana Back then, we had that request section, and I really abused it, without getting much, sadly. So I decided to learn eventually.
Wakana It took a lot to learn almost everything about porting, but once you know how to deal with the main things, it's a very fun thing to do!
Sixcorby You mentioned "Super Wakana Land" earlier, a hack that you're currently working on. Tell me about it.
Wakana Super Wakana Land was meant to be a little "side project". I had ideas about a possible hack around this oc since quite a bit. Once I got a good player base from my friend Skewer, I decided to start it seriously.
Wakana One of the main features I wanted in it were the abilities: Mario just runs, jumps and grabs enemies/objects. I wanted this to totally change with Wakana Land. So far she has her own mana system, can "fly" a bit, ground pound, and much more!
Sixcorby Ooooh. Sounds very fun.
Wakana In the future, I'll probably make her have even more abilities, like a dash attack, and who knows, maybe a special attack too.
Wakana Oh, and also I went with this thing of including other hacks' characters in it. I really liked the idea of a crossover hack, and so far it's going very good.
Wakana Some of the characters I wanted in will be included in the C3 demo, but I plan to extend the number when I'll get to a full-lenght hack.
Sixcorby Do you have any plans in SMW hacking for the future?
Wakana I'd really love to learn ASM. Unfortunately, I'm kind of a busy person, and for stuff like this, you really need a lot of time.
Wakana Obviously, I also hope to finish Wakana Land, but also Touhou Mario 2, which is sitting in mine and Vitor's folder since quite a bit.
Wakana ...and, well, keeping up with the moderation of hacks in SMWC. ^w^

Sixcorby Lastly, as many know, Vitor Vilela is your cutie and best friend.
Sixcorby How did that friendship come about?

Wakana Well, it all started when Vitor offered his help in inserting the SA-1 chip in Touhou Mario 1.
Wakana It suffered lots of slowdown due to the huge amount of sprites and shooters used all over the place.
Wakana I said "why not?", knowing that implied an huge work both from me, but especially from him.
Wakana We started working together, sending PMs back and forth, until we became really close friends.
Wakana He was, and is awesome. I feel really good knowing I have such a great friend like him~

Wakana Yes. I just wanted to say an huge thank you to all those who supported and still support me. SMWC feels like home at this point, everyone is always kind and gentle with me.
