SNES or emulator

Before, I used to use ZSNES for pretty much every SMW hack. Now, I would only use it for older hacks before 2012, hacks still in the waiting to be moderated section, and Japanese SMW hacks.

Hacks that are officially hosted here (2013-onwards), I use ZMZ.
Modern Redrawn Mario Bros. 1.5 (last update - February 14, 2023, some new bonus frames, tons of minor touchups to various poses)

On Pixel Art Requests: Depends on what it is and if I have the time for it. If its complex and I don't have the time, don't expect me to accept it.

Projects I support:

Probably a bad idea. You never know when some dickface is gonna sneak a ZSNES exploit into the ROM that will wreck your hard drive, kill your family, rip your balls off and take a shit on your carpet. In that order.
Welcome to the world of girl love. It's slippery when wet!

Doubt it. That would be quite an effort for a troll.

I use ZMZ nowadays, though I previously used ZSNES and snes9x 1.39.

I used to use Snes9x, but my version of Snes9x was so out of date (Version 0.21 or .18, I forget) that I went and got something more up to date, which at the time was ZSNES. Then, now, in the latest decade, that I'm back into doin stuf with emulaterrz,

I find that ZSNES is actually not as accurate as I remembered it was (memory refreshers blablabla), and I go and get ZMZ, with Snes9x core.
Anyhow, no one cares.

I use ZMZ (Snes9x core).
I'd use a flashcart if they weren't so expensive and supported expansion chips. SD2SNES supports a few of them, but not all.

ZSNES' sound is weird once you get used to other emulators and it has difficulties with SA-1 and some more stuff. Even though I'm finally able to run bsnes/higan with my current computer, its shitty library organization stuff and its forced exclusive sfc-unheadered support makes quick hack testing a living nightmare. Also, is it just me or does it screw with the colors? Might as well force a shitty CRT filter in.

I like Snes9x's interface more than I like ZMZ's, so I use Snes9x 1.53, even if it means I can't use bsnes' more accurate core.

I'm not going to pay 200$ for a device that cannot play a lot of SNES games and thus doesn't do the job as well as an emulator. I have an USB SNES controller anyway, so the only thing I'm missing out on is the CRT effect. Filters can fix that but I'm lazy.

I believe there are alternative versions of bsnes around that don't have all that weird stuff. bsnes-classic is the one I have.

Although, I mostly use ZMZ nowadays.
Snes9x EX+ (Android port of Snes9x)

Casual: ZSNES 1.41
Why 1.41? Because netplay.

Serious: _____
I use ZSNES for testing, although I should probably get a different emulator. I guess I'll do it when I'm almost done with my hack for cross-emulator testing.
PM me!
Quest on Full Moon Island 2

I'm a dog. Woof.

Tag (div) is closed, I just felt like saying hi.
I prefer emulators (because savestates because I'm terrible). I use Snes9x-rr 1.53, and I also use Snes9xGX (Snes9x for the Wii/Homebrew Channel).
OpenEmu (OS X user here), not shelling out for SD2SNES.
I'm back after a long hiatus. Should probably be here to stay. Hopefully...
Just got a sd2snes~

Birthday money from family, yo.
