Welcome to the SMWCentral Casino Pokertable but instead of cards we'll be playing with dice. Never played poker before? Worry not for this will explain you the rules as well as how to play.

Rules

A classic die has 6 sides, naturally, numbered from 1 to 6. In the SMWCentral Casino however, we of course have our own, special, dice with the values being as follows in decending order:

Meaning that Mario's head is equal to a 6 and the highest value, the moon is the second highest equal to 5 and so on till the mushroom which is the least valuable equal to the 1 on a normal die.

The goal of the game is to build the most valuable hand with 5 dice and exchanging once. What does that mean? Well, at the beginning of the game, you'll be handed 5 random dice, you can exchange any number of dice you want from your hand once. You can keep them as they are or you can get rid of all of them and be handed a completly new hand. The possible combination of dice to build a good hand are listed in the table below. After each player has exchanged dice (or decided to keep them) the dealer (that being me) will also exchange his dice and the hands will be compared.
Every player plays agains the dealer alone and not against each other, so everyone who, at the end, has a better hand than the dealer will receive a reward, that being a mutiple of his original bet. So the better the hand, the higher the price.
If you actually manage to get a draw, you'll have your original bet returned to you.
If you have a less valuable hand than the dealer, you lose and walk away empty handed.

For example, if you enter the game with a bet of 20 coins and win against the dealer with a "Four of a kind", you'll receive 20 * 50 = 1000 coins. Minus you're bet of 20 coins you made a profit of 980 coins.
The table below shows what kind of hands can be build and how much your bet is multiplied with if you win with said hand.

NameExampleDescriptionMultiplier
Five of a kindAll five dice are the same50
Four of a kindFour of the five dice are the same with a random fifth25
StraightFive dice in proper order without any gaps. The only possibilities are displayed to the left20
Full HouseA combination of a three of a kind and a pair15
Three of a kindThree of the five dice show the same, the remining two are random but not forming another pair10
Two PairTwo dice are the same and another two dice are also the same but different from the first pair. The fifth dice is random not matching the former pairs5
PairTwo dice are the same The remaining 3 are not forming further pairs nor matching the first.2
NothingWhen none of the above is matched. Note that in the example, the moon is missing for a straight1

A Draw?

But what if your hand has the same value as the dealer's? Sure, if one has a Full House and the other just a Pair, the winner is obvious, but what if both have a Three of a kind? In that case, we compare the who has the higher triplets as by the symbol value. For example, a triplet of stars beats a triplet of mushrooms. If both players have the same triplets, the highest side die decides the winner. For example, if both players have 3 moons but one also has a Mario as his highest die and the other only a star, the player with Mario wins. The same train of thoughts is used for Five/Four of a kind, Full House and Pairs.
In case of Two Pairs, the highest pair wins. So Two Marios + Two Muchrooms wins agains Two Moons + Two Stars because Mario > Moon. If the higher pairs of both players are the same, the lesser pairs are used for comparisson. If those are also the same, the remaining die is used.
For Straights it's simple. The one with Mario is more valuable.
For Nothing, it's a simple highest die wins.
So an actual draw only happens if both players have the exact same dice

How to play

To play you only need 2 simple commands. The command has to be the very first line of your post, anything else will be ignored. If your post does not start with either of these words, it will be ignored as well. You can keep your layout but do not use any styling for that first line such as bold, italic or anything like that. At the end of each post, a small log can be found from which you can see if your post has been read and parsed correctle. These are the commands:

  • Play x
The x stands for an amount of coins you want to bet. This is what will later be used with the mulitplier so the higher the bet, the higher the reward (if you actually win). The bet has to be inbeteween 5 and 100 coins. Anything out of these ranges will not be accepted. If you try a decimal value, it will just round them down. So 5.9 becomes 5.
Using this command, you'll be signed up for the next game. So if a game is already in progress, you'll NOT be joining that game but the one after that. When using this command, the bet will be paid in advance and the sign up is irreversible, so don't sign up for a game when you're about to have dinner and can't play.
    Example: Play 20
  • Change x,x,x,x,x [bet]
This command can only be used by players who are part of an active game (as in, your name is in the players table). With this, you can exchange dice. Simply put the number of the dice you want to change as a comma seperated list after the command. Do not use spacing afer the commas. This command can only be used once, when the player is still in the state "Original". If you do not want to exchange any dice, you can either wait for timeout or just use Change 0 which will let you keep all your dice
    Example: Change 1,2,5
Update: You can now sign up for the next game while exchanging dice. Simply add the bet amount seperated by one space after the list of changed dice
Example: Change 1,5 100 (combination of change 1,5 and play 100)

Timing

I'll come by every minute to read new posts and check for commands.
Additionally, there is a time limit for each game. A game may not last more than 10 6 minutes. After 10 6 minutes, every player who has not exchanged dice yet, will simply be forced to keep all his dice as if he had used Change 0. Due to that, a single game can last inbetween 1 and 10 6 minutes.
