A kaizo hack : Sado Mario

Hi. So, this is my hack, Sado Mario.
Do you need some information ? Alright.

The hack : kaizo:hard hack.

How many level? : 3 + 1 bonus

Why the presentation of your hack is boring? : Because I'm not good for that #ab{@_@}

Why this hack? :
Because it is the only one which is not stopped. I'm short of time.
I don't know if I will have the time to continue my hacks.
So, the reason of my presence at this C3 has been just to present my work before I left for a certain time. I will keep an attention on the future of smwcentral and mario hacking without working on it.
So, yes, it's like a goodbye.
I hope my future will permit me to work on my hacks again.
Sorry if I make some mistake in my sentences

If you are going to have a roast, a chicken is better than a phoenix.

The bottom left corner of the crate gives you a mushroom when hit by the shell. For some weird reason, SMW's crates behave like switch palace blocks... I have yet to know what went on Nintendo's head to do that.

I certainly remember when you posted this hack months ago in the Kaizo subforum and how hard it was on the standards of Kaizo hacking. I'm not sure whether that's just me, but even for an intricate hack, the cave was frustrating enough, especially that Yoshi jump after getting hurt by the fish. You left sprite memory issues in a few places, such as when the banzai bill appears (fix it by setting it to 04).
Although there were parts where it became fun, others required a lot of precision and backtracking for an otherwise appealing hack.

Another thing that irks me is that the levels are a bit long. It doesn't help that I was a culprit for this before.

So yeah, you definitely have potential, but easing the difficulty a bit should suffice. Good job!

It seems like the whole crate has that problem. I am really not sure why.

Anyway, I played through the hack and was quite impressed. I really love the level design and obstacales. I actually thought the level lenght and difficulty were fine. This hack doesnt want to be a first Kaizo hack for new players. The jumps and the timing are challenging but never unfair plus you almost always see immediately what you have to do. The level lenght of about 5 minutes seems suitable (but that is just me as I really dont like levels that only take 2-3 minutes).

The hack is pretty much breakfree. I only found one in level one where you can eat/stomp the shell at the same time with Yoshi to create a disco shell to fly under the level. A muncher celling should do the trick to prevent that.

I really enjoyed that hack and hope you make more of that substance in the future. Good work.
