Luigi's Breakdown (retoolance)

Because Luigi deserves to be in the limelight for once.

Since this is Luigi trying to be better than Mario, I'm gonna try to make it a lot more difficult than some of my recent stuff, as in you'll probably need to spam slowdown for a huge chunk of it. It also has slightly more story than anything else I have.
Stage 1: Moltov Cocktail

Named that cuz it takes some inspiration from Moltov Mario World.

Fuck you Bloopers.
Stage 2 (unless I decide to make the OW split paths like Rockman and Forte): Spring Stadium

SMB:TLL 7-3 inspiration. My hands are probably tied at making this an earlier stage.

Unlike my recent stuff, I am bringing back being able to L and R screen scroll.

Because I didn't feel like making a separate thread, some easier side project stuffs:
Numbers Station

Touch the numbers in order to make a 1-up appear. I want that to be the overall level gimmick but it only works once, even if I put another one. Gonna be kinda tricky.

Is that something like Luigi's Challenge? Now the screenshots look good.
This looks awesome Sokoban, but I'd hate to see you drop another project. I have two suggestions.

1. Don't feel obligated to work on this when you don't want to.

2. Even if you feel like cancelling this hack, don't delete the files, just stash them somewhere on your computer. You might want to pick it up again later (At least this is the case for me).
Screenshots look great as expected! I like the story and name of Luigi's Breakdown.

This is pretty good advice. I've always kept from having more than one project going on at once, but I know that can be difficult when each project is so different. The only thing I could suggest is with those other level ideas, they could easily be implemented into the hack as secret/extra levels if you don't feel they fit the main series of the hack but don't want to make an entirely new hack. Unless of course those other level ideas are for one-level hacks, than my advice is pointless :P

Under funstruction, obviously. Have not tested it while slippery. But I know it's possible not slippery. Vanilla method to discourage jumping I don't see too often.

As always, this hack seems nicely designed judging from the screenshots. I don't quite like the palette of the status bar on the last screenshot; you could fix it by relocating the palette occupied by the background to another slot and recolor the tiles accordingly, or something else I didn't think of.

Didn't really think much about that. That wasn't so much of a priority at the moment, but I should probably get on that before I forget.

Can you get 2 mushrooms from that?

Beginning level signs since I want to somehow be able to use the no OW patch and still have a functional ROM.

Kinda reminds me of the Hammer Bro segments in Forky and MMD stage 3 in a way. That's about all I have done of that stage so far.

Got that sorted out. Probably should have thought about patching no OW to an unmodded ROM and then porting over from the get-go. Kinda feel bad about making a topic for that.

Auto-scrolling. The second half will have a fun gimmick of all goes according to plan.

Sure. I just don't want to make videos of the first couple or so levels only to find that I don't have any interest anymore. I feel like once I post a video of the first stage, I want to think that I am committed to finishing the hack, and it's easier to have that assurance once I make some more rooms of later levels, verifying that the core ideas I thought about spawn a satisfactory amount of creative ideas.

Huh, that makes sense. Okay then
Level 1, Moltov Cocktail. For some reason after I beat the level, the music isn't playing in the following level, but if I die and start the level again, then the music plays. I'm using AddmusicK and the no overworld patch.
