Joe's Journey (finally, I'm making an actual hack!)

Standard

I've had a lot of controversy over whether or not to make a SMW hack, and I've made countless 1% finished prototypes of hacks, but they never expanded into a full hack. Now I've decided to end that before I spend the rest of my life chatting on random forums.
So, without further ado...
JOE'S JOURNEY
And now, the hack's storyline, told by my good friend the Storyteller. Take it away, Storyteller!

Originally posted by Storyteller
Far away from the Mushroom Kingdom, there is a land unknown to most called the Berry Kingdom, where, of course, berries were plentiful. There also lived two brothers, one by the name of Joe, the other named Moe. They both had a best friend named Sabrina. She lived happily with the brothers in Joe's house.

All was well until one day, a nuclear power plant far from the Berry Kingdom was disposing of nuclear waste. One of the plant's workers slipped on a puddle of water, which sent the barrel of nuclear waste he was carrying flying, all the way to the Berry Kingdom. The waste barrel finally spilled on a lone berry on the edge of the kingdom. Suddenly, as a reaction to nuclear radiation, the berry began to grow, and grow, until it had turned into a monster.

This monster had grown a brain, and knew of the fact that berries were a popular snack in the Berry Kingdom. Angry that its fellow brethren were being eaten, the mess of a berry decided to wreak havoc on the Berry Kingdom, carry off the nearest human to A Place Unknown, and have it for dinner.

And that nearest human, who was off for a walk, happened to be Sabrina.

With its tall but thin arms, the monster carried Sabrina off into the faraway area called A Place Unknown. Of course, Joe and Moe heard of this from the little bird they kept as a pet, and off they went to rescue her.
And so the journey begins...

So, this is Joe. Say hi, Joe!

Oh, what am I doing? You guys just want to see some screenies, so I'll just give you some! #w{=3}

The 100% unfinished overworld. I will make a better one sometime in the future!

Part of the outside of Joe's house. The cherries act as a mushroom, and the door leads to the inside (aka underground). Also, hi, small Joe!

Part of the inside of Joe's house. I should note that I haven't yet found the time to edit the status bar. For now it will say "Mario".

Some assorted screenshots of the first level, Wood Chucks (get it?) which basically cover the entire level so far. By the way, the orange in the first two screenshots of the level is a replacement for a Fire Flower.

Feel free to post your feedback, it is greatly appreciated!

UPDATE: Here's an update!

Here we see Joe's bro Moe as well as the rest of Joe's luxury condominium underground house. Also, I completely removed the status bar.
That said, I have no need anymore for coins and Yoshi coins.

Joe and Moe respectively, when they have a fire flower. I figured you guys might want to see that.
And now...
THE FIRST CUSTOM ENEMY

The red guy on the left is the first enemy exclusive to the Berry Kingdom, called the Berri (plural form Berris). It replaces the beached (shell-less) koopa. By the way, the coins in these screenshots are temporary- they will be removed ASAP.

FUN FACT OF THE DAY
The mushrooms Mario eat are actually very similar to an amanita mushroom. If a man took two bites of that mushroom, he would very likely die. One bite of an amanita mushroom is probably enough to send him to the hospital, and yet Mario actually grows from it!?! Wow, Mario is something! Joe and Moe, however, eat healthy berries and fruits to keep them strong, which is how they "grow up".
Nice thread. The noseless sprite is pretty great too.
Thanks! That's my signature style #tb{:j}
Anyways, time for another update!

So my friend TheGreenGamer (whom I encouraged to join SMWC) has joined in the making of the hack with me! Here's something he made himself.

The bullet bill will be replaced by a flying pitcher of cranberry juice! You could call it a Cranberry Bill of sorts...

And now, a bunch of boring legal stuff about the hack.

...Hi. #tb{¬_¬}

As ThePowerPlayer said, I'm aiding him in creating this hack(he forced convinced me). I usually don't work with the technical side of things (ThePowerPlayer is an expert at that), but instead draw out what I want him to add. I think up ideas, he makes them realities. I also get paid for doing this. I was paid to say this, in fact... By the way, the ending to Super Mario World is
... what did you expect? It's the same as almost every Mario platformer out there. It's not like Bowser turns into a cat or something...

Okay.

So I quit development of this hack for a while, but I thought about it and now, with the help of TheGreenGamer, I'm sure I'll be able to make progress with the hack. I'm going to be more to the point with hack updates, while still being funny every so often. So that brings me to this question- Do any of you, if anyone is seeing this, want me to continue development on Joe's Journey?

If this thread gets enough replies saying "yes", I will, if possible, create another thread discussing the reboot of a silently abandoned SMW hack, Joe's Journey. Thanks for reading.
your posts are so charming. I love them.

it's hard to say whether or not i'm interested in a reboot, because you haven't really shown anything particularly worth saving (besides Joe and Moe of course, who are definitely worth keeping around).
I'd say, do what you want to do. If you're interested in continuing Joe's Journey, do it! But don't make it out of obligation.

Good luck either way! :)
ask me if i give a f*ck...
