What's the difference between color bans and "group" bans?

I recently discovered there's a "banned" group. Some old user was int he banned group, but had a normal inactive color.

What's the difference?

EDIT:

blackhole89 has a dark pink (inactive unbanned) username, but is a member of the Banned group.

What is the Banned group?
I think it's to do with the length they've been inactive for, the nature of the ban, and the allocated sex of the user.

People get inactive, darkened name colors when they haven't been logged in for 30 days. This isn't strictly related to bans, but obviously, a lot of banned people haven't been around for a while.

I'm pretty sure that should be self explanatory, it's a group of members that were banned from something on the site.
The ban colours and inactive colours have (as far as I know) been slightly broken for a while now. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot of people in the Banned category without banned colours.

Trust me, I would know, since I banned a lot of people during my reign of awesome.
