Originally, SMW was just an edited version of SMB3. Keep this in mind when making big Mario sprites, blocks, and other graphics.

While what you say is an intetesting argument, I dont think that smw was built from smb3. I do believe, however, that it was built from scratch, and was being planned at the same time as smb3, thus sharing many elements, and game physics. I read somewhere that miamoto even stated this himself. (Not in these exact words though)
Great, Yoshi Master!!! I am really happy about the way this hack has summed up, I started folowing it a few months ago (before I made acount) and I am super pleased with the way it turned out! Are you still going to possible turn it into a comuntity project so somebody who dose ASM can fix the status bar?
Well, your hack rocks, just want to let you know! =)
Well, I am waiting for your post, all Alphas sent! How long after alphas will it be released?

Well, I'm going to make a guess here and say that he'll inform us sometime tonight, or tomorrow. Yeah, it's great yoshi master, like famedrive said! ;)
Well, it's pretty awesome that you are nearing completion of this hack. It sure is a big thing here. (30 pages?!)
It's a shame I didn't follow it more closely.
Also,
I lol'd hard.

It's no big (hahahaha lol puns) deal, seeing as how about 90% of the responses are "lookin good yeah" and "I HOPE THIS RELEASES SOON

Vah'Neela's Mansion coming soon.
This is so exciting, I've been following this since page 3 I think

It was actually based off of SML2 and SMB3 I think. The original Beta Koopa's for SMW are modled off of the SMB3 one and the wooden block returns aswell. The Running up walls frames for mario are SML2 styled because if you turn them 90 degrees to the left, and compare them to SML2 Mario walking and standing pose, they'll look very much alike. There's also alot more things that are modled from SMB3 and SML2 but I won't get to far in depth of that.
Anyways, I can't wait to see this thread's headline changed to: SMW Beta (RELEASED!) and/or seeing it in moderation. You've done a good job with this hack, Yoshi Master, very good.

In a way, sure you guys are a bit of motivation. Most of my motivation actually comes from the fact I just like to make the hack though. This started as a sort of hobby for me (like many of you). I also like to work on things (drawing, painting, writing, etc.) with a reference point as well so it is easy to see why I picked up this project. I also find prototypes in great interest.
I actually don't hack unless I feel I will put enough effort in, and enjoy my time doing it. So, I am a bit slower.

Oh right sorry, haha. All alphas have been sent. Upon completion of the tests, I will release the first version. This is just the main overworld and levels, no bonuses. I will re-release the hack with some bonuses as time goes on.

where can you get it.
Once they have finished testing, YoshiMaster will fix anything he needs to, and will release the first public version of the hack.
YoshiMaster, I FINALLY got around to testing spritetool with my racoon patch and it works perfectly
. I have a feeling something else is conflicting with it aswell.

I have some interesting information. Since terrra stripe 1.0 is out, you can edit the overworld borders. This allows you to restore the beta overworld score and coin counters, well, at least to some extent. If they are placed on the border, they don't work, and dont increase when you get coins. Also, to get them in the right spot, you'd have to edit where the level name tiles go, as they overwrite the coin and score counter gfx. Then you'd have to figure out how to draw to the overworld score and coin counters. At least it's possible to some extent now. Here's what I'm talking about.

See? They don't work. Hell, I'm surprised that the graphics are still in the rom. Also, they become invisable if you place them 1 more tile down, because of the space being reserved for level names. Pretty interesting find, no? Knowing you, you'll probably come up with a creative idea. I hope this information helps with the hack. Good luck yoshi master. ;)
