Enhancing the information of SMWC

First of all, on a side note, I wanted to thank everyone who has donated to Boom so far. He has raised a very fine sum already, and your continued support is most appreciated. A huge thank you goes out to all of those who have been helping to restore hacks too - any hack you can find on your computer, or elsewhere, would be awesome.

Secondly, it's about time we added a few things to the site, AND our Wiki in terms of resourceful and helpful information. Here are three things I have in mind:

1. Rope Box: Also known as the top box, under the Users Online. What I really want to do with this is extend the list of tips as far as we can. I have been periodically adding as much as I can to it over the past couple of months, and I known others on staff have too. If any users have a suggestion for a very specific and detailed tip that they would like to see up there, feel free to send me a private message.

2. The FAQ: It could still use more work. I am currently writing up a section on it for recording movies of your hacks through ZSNES. Again, if anyone has a suggestion for a section on the FAQ that would benefit a new, or even a veteran user who is looking through it, please post it here or send me a PM.

3. The Wiki: This is probably one of the most useful pages we have, though it is underused due to vandalism and lack of interested users. I want to change this. If anyone wants to add something to the Wiki (I.E. some information about themself as a user, some information about a hack, a hack guide, etc.) then please post it here, or again, send me a PM with the required info and I will do it for you. On the other hand, you could create a little account on the Wiki and do it yourself, but I am fine with doing it as long as you provide the info.

Anyway, I have made some little changes to the SMWiki (I added the staff template to some new mods' pages), and I started making a page for myself.
Also, how about adding a short form of the "What really matters is that you had fun" thread to the rope box?

Perhaps you could add a section on Snes9x recording, too?

I know you lost hacks, but I cant find the original warp block that uses the screen exit number... Is that related?

Do you mean the tekeport block? It's included in Blocktool.

That would be a fine tip, but technically, it is not a glitch and it can be fixed. When you change from level to level after you've gone into a pipe, and you go to level 000, just be sure to have the other screen also leading to an exit. It will work after that. (Maybe you don't even need the first screen leading to an exit, but I doubt that... I think you need both).

EDIT: Speaking of the FAQ, I just adding a new section regarding layouts and profiles, which you can read here. If you feel something else should be added, let me know.

As I said, if you send me a brief bio about yourself, or something you feel should be added, I will add it to the Wiki.

I thought if $75 was raised, we'd back up everything from the server. What's going on there?

Don't know for sure on that. All I know is that we don't have the $75 raised yet, and we still need more. If we don't get it, we won't be able to get that backup, and our deadline is July 9th (month old backups). Hopefully we get the last $10 or $20 by then.

Also if you put a door on the boundary, depending on where you enter it you can end up at level 0.
