It's that time once again for member of the month! For March, we have Magiluigi, who is not only a great graphics artist, but has been a big help in our Super Mario World Central Production 2 collaboration project with his graphical overhaul!

Sixcorby So, you've been doing a "graphics overhaul" in SMWCP2, the site's current main collaboration project.
Sixcorby How has that job been for you?
Magiluigi Fun and tiresome.
Magiluigi It'd probably just be tiresome but I enjoy drawing and all the aesthetic stuff, so what's where the fun comes in.
Magiluigi Though sometimes I need a rest, clicking stuff repeatedly is bad for you and all that (and sometimes I feel that annoying little pain)
Magiluigi I forgot what it's called but, yeah, you know the one.

Sixcorby What's been the biggest highlight for you in the gfx overhaul journey?
Magiluigi Hmm...
Magiluigi That's a hard one.
Magiluigi Though I'd say my improvements to Tourou Temple (the oriental world castle) are my favorite, even though I'm not quite done with it yet.
Magiluigi Others are Arboreal Ascent and Crocodile Crossing.
Magiluigi But, honestly, I can't really pick a favorite. I've been enjoying it all!

Magiluigi I... legitimately don't know.
Magiluigi It's funny, though, because one of the first things I did in SMW was change some graphics.
Magiluigi I guess it's because I've always drawn stuff and enjoyed the looks of things...?
Magiluigi I have no idea but, who cares, I like it!
Sixcorby Do you do art outside of SMW?
Magiluigi Yes, but I haven't had the time to practice much, unfortunately.
Magiluigi More things to keep me busy have been popping up and all, so I'm mostly able to work on SMW stuff.
Magiluigi Maybe it's The Adult Life™ picking up, haha.

Sixcorby Back to SMWCP2, is there anything else you want to see or hope to accomplish yourself for it?
Magiluigi Well, anything I can accomplish for it is what I'm doing for it currently, which is the aesthetic-related stuff.
Magiluigi But what I hope others accomplish for it is music and boss battle revisions.
Magiluigi They're already going but, still, there's still a chance that the people handling those things won't have time to finish them.
Magiluigi I really just want SMWCP2 to be something people from inside and outside the community look at with joy.
Magiluigi And it gets kinda hard to look at a game with joy when it looks less-than-stellar, so that's why I stepped in to give it the plastic surgery it needed, heh.

Sixcorby Do you have any other projects underway that you'd like to share?

Magiluigi Like, I do have one, but I've only managed to finish two levels for it.

Magiluigi Don't get your hopes up, by the way, it's nothing spectacular.

Magiluigi Not really.
Magiluigi I don't even know if The Side Project™ will be finished, because I suck at finishing basically anything I start.
Magiluigi I guess attending level design contests will suffice after everything is done, I don't know.
Magiluigi I guess I suck at thinking about my future too, lol.

Magiluigi I know this is really cliché, but I also want to put my pixel art to use in something that's not SMW.
Magiluigi And the whole idea of ~making a game~ is so nice.
