Tip: Switch palace switches normally disappear if you replay the level. However, if you insert them as direct Map16 and use the hex-edit at $00EEB2 in the ROM map, you can replay the level without a problem.Not logged in.

okay so this is my level for the contest. Here the colors continuously alternate between magenta, yellow and cyan, and by doing so they reveal certain parts of the level that are otherwise invisible.

Actually, I think it would be just fine in the "Abstract" world...maybe also part Casino.

I should make an actual comment on the level.

I like the gimmick you've got here, but I didn't see any enemies in those gifs. Seeing as they're only going to be visible for 1/3 of the time as far as I can tell, your sprite placement is what's going to make or break your level. Place special attention to where you put your enemies.

That's what I thought considering everything takes 2 seconds to switch color/frame. It should definitely be sped up so there's less waiting.
I think this looks really cool. Yeah, maybe speed up the animation a tad, but other than that it's a really neat idea and you've executed it pretty well judging by those gifs.
Looks creative. Yous should, however, speed the animation a bit and maybe add a layer 3 to make the BG feel less empty.

I'll give a more detailed review tomorrow, but I can say one thing for sure after giving this a shot for a few minutes.
It isn't fun to play.

The animation makes the player play the waiting game.
You also designed the level in a way, that you WANT to trick the player into taking damage/dieing by not seeing an obstacle.
So level is quite unfair in some places.

You should look at it again and think about where players that don't know the level might get unfairly hit.
Change those places and the level immediatly much better.
