What Internet Browsers Do You Use?

I'm interested to learn what browser you use to, well, browse the Internet.

Here's what I use:

Pale Moon
Originally a Firefox without the layout issues and some other changes, it's now a browser in its own right, it uses the Goanna rendering engine (a fork of Gecko) and generally has better performance than Firefox does.

Used: Windows Vista and Manjaro Linux

Safari
Yes, the default browser on a Mac, I use this thing, because unlike the other default browser (Internet Exploder), it works. It's generally a good browser despite those elitists going on about how Chrome is the master race and whatever.

Used: iPhone 5c, Mac OS X 10.11.3

Kept using Nightly, which is essentially the "early-access", "beta" or "WIP" version of Firefox. Eventually got pissed about how many updates they shat out that broke even the simplest things that were in plain sight, making you wonder how they could have missed that. Made me go back to regular Firefox, after finding out where to find the official 64-bit versions of it (seriously, they're quite well hidden on the Firefox website).

I also use Edge for reading PDFs. Does that count?
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
Firefox for me. I use Chrome as my "backup" and open separate sessions with it, but FF is always my main one. I used to solely use IE, but I got annoyed with it and switched over to this. Really glad I did #ab{:)}

You probably already know it, but I might as well post this again.

I use Opera. I used Firefox for a long time, then I got tired of the browser for various reasons and looked for another one. Conveniently, it was mid-2013 and the new Opera browser had just been released so I switched to that and I've been using it ever since. Although it does have its issues, for the time being it works well so that's what I'm using. I also have IE11 in case of emergency.

For mobile browsing I've always used Opera Mini.

EDIT: On an unrelated note, a security update for Opera 12 got released and I realized how many people still refuse to update to the new Opera versions...huh. I think I'm having déjà vu.
Currently sticking with Firefox despite the very few issues it has. As you might expect, I sticked solely to IE for some time before eventually realizing how outdated it was and ditching it. I also have Google Chrome, but I only open it when there's the need.

I actually kinda despise people who suggest using alternative browsers for anything except playing around in a sandbox. The web is a hostile and complex mess of technology and sadly only the main 4 browsers can be considered safe (Edge, Safari, Firefox, Chrome; Opera is actually just Chrome). Pale Moon is a great example as it's over 2 years out of date not only in security but also performance and web technology support. The only reason it might run faster is because it's broken.

Chrome is what performs the best for me and I've generally found it has more sane defaults than Firefox, however I have no issues switching between the two. Edge and Safari are irrelevant to me as I rarely use Windows or OSX, and I'd rather use Chrome's sync functionality. I'm gonna get real excited about Firefox once Servo becomes relevant, but for now I'm only tracking Servo from afar.
I use Firefox. I've been using it for a long time and I've had almost no problems with it other than a few crashes that don't happen very often.

It's nice to know we're mostly Firefox users here. Also, glad that there's a new Opera 12 update too, thanks for the news, RanAS. :)

Opera 35 (just checked the version). Got used it ever since back then because I needed a browser where I can login most of my accounts because I didn't own a laptop at that time. I only had little issues with it.

I also have Firefox as alternate browser and to check if my css elements are working fine. I also have Chrome, but I don't use it personally.
Chrome is my main browser, but I also have Firefox installed just in case I ever need to use it. And on Linux, I use the open-source version of Chrome, Chromium.
Firefox master race.

I would persecute Chrome users, because they are at a disadvantage since they lose all their memory.

I have nothing against Chrome users, until they say their browser is more customizable and faster than mine.

I don't care if my webpages load slightly faster. I also don't really care about Chrome's in-browser applications and games. I'll also never buy a Chromebook. If I want Linux, I'll set up my own install with stuff I want, which works on multiple machines. I use what works for me, and if it doesn't work for you, then it's cool. Just don't tell me I'm wrong without presenting some proof.

I use traditional desktop OSes for a reason.
Slightly well-versed on everything LinuxI'll beta-test your hack. Find me here!
I generally use Firefox. I've used Chrome in the past, but it is something of a memory hog.

Not often I want to post these images, but it's a time I do, now.
Google Chrome practically Cannon Spikes your RAM if you try to use it.

Unless it causes slowdown (eg your RAM is entirely being used by programs), high RAM usage is not something to be concerned about, it doesn't even affect performance other than looking big in Task Manager.

If you don't have a lot of RAM and would hit the cap, then yeah I can see why Chrome would be bad for you, but other than that, not really an argument.

Still kinda find it funny how Chrome started out as this lightweight thing that people who got sick of Firefox' RAM hoggery would look to and now they switched places.

isn't most of chrome's ram shenanigans caused by add-ons? (likely with firefox as well???)

I haven't really decided between Firefox and Chrome. I started with Firefox, switched to Chrome and switched back to Firefox. I guess neither really has an advantage over the other. RAM usage never concerns me much, nor does speed.

something is supposed to go here

Chrome lagged in some old computer I had, so I downloaded Firefox and stuck to it since. I like the interface and have gotten used to it, so I have no reasons to switch.

I still use the default Android browser, I keep forgetting to use Chrome instead #smw{-_-;}
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?

I don't know about Chrome, but in Firefox, I'm pretty sure that the majority of RAM consumption comes from your history, backup features, tabs etc. Firefox most likely keeps a snapshot of all that (or at least a part of it) in RAM the entire time. Of course this also means that RAM consumption increases dramatically with each new opened tab. Well, it also increases due to the loaded websites themselves, but what I mean is that, presumably, Firefox creates a completely new, additional history for every single tab you open. This can easily be tested like this: Open a new tab in Firefox, visit some website, click a few links and then close the tab again. Now go to "History -> Recently closed tabs" and click on the tab you just closed. The tab will be restored, but not only that. If you take a look at the tab's back button, you will notice that all of its previously visited websites will also still be there, so not only did Firefox backup the tab itself, but also its recent history. Of course this requires some extra memory for every single tab opened, and that's just one example.

To be honest, though: I'm not sure if Firefox actually keeps the data of closed tabs around all the time. It probably just saves that data to HDD when a tab is closed and reloads it from HDD when the tab is restored. That's what would make most sense, anyways. Nevertheless, RAM consumption definitely increases with each new tab (especially for tabs that stay opened), so for messies like me, who often have a few hundred tabs opened at the same time and never close them, Firefox can easily claim a few GB of your RAM. I suppose the same goes for Chrome, though. Luckily, I have a whole 64 GB of RAM, so not a problem for me anymore.
