I will continue to work on this hack. From the content I show so far, what do you think about this project?
The numbers aren't part of the level names' font.
Look:
The background palette looks bad.

Ok, I'll be sure to fix that, thanks for the point out.

Yeah I had question about that, the Tileset I am using for that level has its own PAL for the colors, as the background, being a separate ExGFX, doesn't. Should I find another background or try to modify the colors?
You can insert the background with palette in another level and copy the color rows it uses (with ctrl-alt-leftclick and ctrl-alt rightclick)

Sweet, thanks man!
I'm making a collection of SMW hacks that uses the status bar you're currently using. Can you send me a demo?

Demo isn't anywhere near ready. When I finish atleast 2 worlds I will shoot a demo to the public.
EDIT.
I'm using original Background GFX with this tileset. I think it looks decent, what do you guys think?

Yeah, it looks great - I didn't even notice the BG was original at first. Your other screenies are very nice as well Twitter

Yeah it fits in pretty well. I am currently trying to figure out what styled enemies I should use in that level theme. Not sure if I should use Custom Sprites or just reskins. Currently working on Megaman Sprite Retextures for now. And an item shop that will be placed in each world. This is what it looks like currently. You are allowed to buy Fire Flowers, Feather, Star and 1UP.
I want to try to make the Mega Man Appear and Disappearing blocks. I am not sure if that would require some ASM work or Animation that would change between block types aka "Act As".
Or maybe it can be done in Blockreator?
World 2 Teaser!
The numbers' palette looks bad.
The world counter is showing 'World 0'.

It's a global shop so why does it even matter what I put as the World Number?
Palette seems fine to me.
Update. World 2 almost finished. I will be releasing a demo once World 3 is finished.
I started my first ExGFX rip, I am currently ripping from a game called "AVGN Adventures" it is NES themed of course using a Palette from an existing pack, which I modified a tiny bit. The profanity in these levels using the theme is going to stay since the AVGN uses profanity a lot in his videos and since this is based on his game lol.
Back after awhile now. Decided to change Mario's GFX again. I was aiming for the old SMB3 NES look, so I changed some of the palettes for the player skin. I also started doing a rip of some of the Blocks and other objects from SMB3, I wanna know if I should continue working on the rip, modify palettes or anything. Let me know!
SMB3 Mario GFX w/NES Styled Palette. And my Tileset Rip in progress. I modified some of the tiles to give it a somewhat newer look, but its barely noticeable.
I get what you mean with ignoring cutoff, but it will still read more as sloppy or lazy than a homage. I'd do away with it altogether.
The blue koopa and its shell have the same outline as the background, which looks bad.
also im curious, what's that thing on the yoshi coin?
As for the video, everything looks good. You probably dont need the second text box, but the first one is great! After you said "profanity" i was a little worried, but it's very tasteful as is. The level looks fun, if a little punishing for a world 2.
The only thing is that there is going to be a huge contrast in graphic quality if that's the only level that uses those blocks. They are a lot more detailed and colourful than the desert you posted above. Try to find a more consistent graphic style.
oh, and the ending made me giggle. nice.ask me if i give a f*ck...

I'll work on it some more, but yeah just trying to keep it as original as can be And yeah I'll be sure to work on that koopa problem with shell too.

I tried putting Mario's Head on it from the SMB1 on NES. I like the look of it!

Yeah there will be more of those levels scattered around the hack! Don't worry haha. And yeah the ending is just, lol.
Ooh. I like the look of this so far. But I do think the name "Mario's Adventure" is a little overused. Maybe a more original name would help your project stand out better.

Also, is it just my computer or is this thread tablestretched?

Crap I forgot the name of the FG. If I find them again I'll PM you. And yeah I'll try coming up with another name.
So I hatched an idea for a level in the NES World on my hack. Does anybody remember the game Kung Fu? Anyways if you don't here is what I have accomplished / ripped myself so far!
This is Kung-Fu.
This is the Kung-Fu level in my hack. My GFX for it isn't finished yet, but looks neat so far.
Seeing how I cannot add Punching/Punching Enemies in this hack, I figured make this an auto side scrolling level. I have a decent amount of custom sprites the player would have to battle in it anyways! What do you guys think? Proceed with the level?
