"Sir, with all due respect, I'm afraid I can't do that. It was given to me by Death, it feels wrong to give such a precious item away to anybody else. It's also all I have from the universe I am from... Give me the boot if you want, but I won't change my decision..."

Now, for what PK is thinking and is NOT telling him. If Don Diamond knows what it is and its potential, he can't be allowed to use it. If he got it to its full power, he could pose a threat to the world or even the universe. PK doesn't want to cause this world to be ruined also, so he's not handing it over.

Nobody here so uh go to the lounge area and look for things that could interest me.
I'm not a big curse guy...

Pick up a different magazine.
These are getting kind of interesting.

(insert grubby taken from a dumpster clothed human sprite) "Sir, with all due respect, I'm afraid I can't do that. It was given to me by Death, it feels wrong to give such a precious item away to anybody else. It's also all I have from the universe I am from... Give me the boot if you want, but I won't change my decision..."

"Hmph. Maybe you think you're something special, but you're not. What can you learn from flying in space alone, even for that long? Nothing at all. Nothing that you can learn in a world of people bustling around you. Fine, grunt work for you. Leave please."

You leave the room hastily, surprised you kept any kind of job here. When the door closes behind you, you think you can hear talking but you're not sure. Nobody else is around to go in to be interviewed...

LucasRCD goes over to the lounge and lies down across one of the couches, shutting his eyes. With only the sound of people reading in the background, its rather peaceful. You start to doze off.

Tim, Zerus and Horatio all read some more magazines while waiting for the next interview space.

Tim picks up the black market catalouge Zerus just discarded, and skips directly to the software section in it. Woah, this stuff is good. On the lower end, simple keygens, bruteforce tools and backdoors to people's computers for sale. There are also botnets for sale on the higher end, along with corporate passwords, computer viruses and sophisticated hacking software. Just past the software section is a data section - mostly full of encrypted credit card numbers and such.

Horatio continues reading the same magazine, and gets to an editorial piece tiled '5 tips for being a good boss.' "1- Give your subordinates what they want. This rewards them for their work, and also trains them to keep working for you, as with time wants become needs as they are integrated into their lifestyle, and without your help they won't have the lifestyle they become used to.
2- Make sure your subordinates are in awe of you. You don't need to be constantly 'making examples', a trap that novice bosses fall into. Doing so merely grows discontent with your way of running things, and inspires coups and usurpers. The perfect boss should give the impression of not needing subordinates, as if they are doing their subordinates a favor by letting them work for them. You should display your own power casually. And remember to make sure you ARE more powerful than your subordinates, else your authority will quickly be challenged.
3- Never tolerate insubordination. Any direct order disregarded can jeprodise lives and more. But worse, any mistake unpunished will only result in more tolerance and acceptance for mistakes, which leads only to more mistakes, and mistakes cost time, money and lives. Make sure nothing goes without discipline. And remember that you're helping your subordinates be the best subordinates they can be.
4- Communication is key. Work out your chains of information. Make sure everyone knows their place. Make sure things you need to know get to you as fast as possible, so you can know them. Without communication, your entire organization will fall apart.
5- Become blameless, unquestionable and assured in all of your actions. Make sure you're never at fault, that someone else can always take the brunt of a failure and that you never seem unsure, unwise or otherwise about your orders to subordinates. Failing to do this will lead to subordinates questioning you, deciding that they know better and doing their own thing, which will lead to a collapse of all you've worked for."

Zerus reads a new magazine, titled "Magic Monthly". You skip over to the forbidden magic section, which thankfully is as in-depth as the rest of the magazine. A lot of mages shy away from this stuff. Apparently this month's forbidden magic feature is on soul fracturing spells that can split a being's soul into two weaker souls. The magic keeps the souls split apart until one of the vessels dies, at which point both are sent to the grave. Usually the spell traps half of the victim's soul in their shadow. You continue reading. Some other spells are detailed here, like one that can transmute any liquid into acid, including the liquid inside people's bodies. Sadly, none of the spells have the full details for them in. You guess you have to go and buy them. That's how they get you with these magazines...

The greeter from before enters the lounge.

"Ahem. Everyone's interviews have been moved 10 minutes forwards, as we are ahead of schedule."

Go to the bathroom and take a shower WITH CLOTHES ON. Use the best smelling soap I can to remove the stench of dumpster and wash at least 3 times over for good measure. Afterwards, blow dry my clothes so they're nice and dry, then take a shower normally with clothes off. Then dry off and deodorize and put my stuff back on.

"What a jerk, talking like I'm worth nothing because I won't give him my hallow... I've seen things and wielded power beyond his wildest imagination, yet he talks to me like I'm some pathetic nobody... Well he can take that stupid hat of his and shove it up his..."

Angrily mutter stuff under my breath along the lines of the above dialogue while doing my stuff. Also, keep the Star Hallow where I can see it at all times. I don't trust that guy not to steal it from me.

PKstarship takes a fairly long, clothed shower in the bathrooms while complaining about Don Diamond under his breath. The sound of running water, hopefully, blocks your complaints from being overheard by anyone else in the Syndicate. All of the fancy shower options have you rather spoiled actually. After finishing your first shower, you realize there is no way to dry off your clothes... The place is decked out with towels, but no blow dryer. You don't know what to do with your sopping wet but now clean-er dumpster rags...

LucasRCD sleeps a bit longer. He dreams of a duplighost facing off unfair adversary in her quest for pacifism, constantly facing foes far stronger than her but never faltering. Sadly, her quest isn't going well in your dream, and she hasn't really succeeded in anything.
Still, its all just a dream, so who cares. If you weren't only lightly dozing you'd forget about it instantly as you woke up.

Horatio leaves for his interview. Zerus gets up to look for more interesting things, and heads to the garden. Tim keeps on reading, engrossed.

Zerus arrives at the garden. Its a fairly decent sized, walled courtyard garden, with a pool taking up most of the right half of the garden. There are a few outdoors tables where it connects to the dining room, then a more wild portion in the northwest of the garden. A boo, buzzy beetle and cheep cheep are all sparring in the northeast of the garden, and a pokey is lounging on an inflatable bed in the pool... I'll let you work that one out..

Horatio arrives at his interview in the Jeweled Room. Uh, at least you thought that was where your interview takes place.

"Ah, Tim... You uh... You said you were a Shy Guy on your CV but uh... Maybe you made a mistake? I don't know if anyone has gotten their own species wrong before. Maybe he just thinks the hood makes him a shy guy. Maybe he really wants to be seen as a shy guy, shit, was I insensitive? Anyway, down to business, I'm Don Diamond. You're apparently a good hacker? Could I trouble you for a demonstration?"

Before you can interject anything, Tim comes flying through the door, having run at an incredibly fast pace.

Take off my clothes and wring them out really hard to get as much water out as possible. Repeat until they are as dry as I can get them.

Then get dressed, head over to the lounge, and start playing some sort of Metroidvania game on the TV. Act casual, as though I'm not wearing soggy clothes.

"Ah no, I'm just here to provide a more dramatic entrance for this fellow."

Quietly rewind time and go to the Felt Room.
"Hmm... That Duplighost seemed familiar... I may have seen her before, but... I don't remember when..."

"Man, I suddenly have an urge to play video games... Let's see if there's anything like that here."

Look for a place with games, an arcade within this building.

"Ah no, I'm just here to provide a more dramatic entrance for this fellow."

You rewind time, getting yourself an extra couple of minutes and making sure that you're not late to your interview in the felt room. You knock on the door and head inside. Its a lot less... Impressive than the Jeweled Room. NO rare artifacts or anything. Just wooden furniture with soft, velvet tops and bookcases lined with various books.

"Horatio, nice of you to meet me. I'm the boss of the syndicate. For my own safety, people just call me Boss. Just wanted to run you through a few things in private, then we'll be done. You'll be leading all of the other newbies, as well as a couple of odd employees I've set up for you. Uh, I had a great pick for your muscle leader but. Its fallen through. Anyway, I've arranged to set your new little branch in a warehouse we're renting from Kremkrok Industries Inc. They have a lot of ties to us, and we don't have many town center buildings yet. You're pretty lucky to get a space there. You'll be handling the missions, finance, rent, organization, food, accommodation, renovations, information, storage and everything else. I hope that isn't too hard for you. We'll keep you sourced with the latest. And we'll keep a close eye on you too, we expect 50% of your earnings in exchange for our services. Anyway, I think as of now your team should be three grunts, one muscle, one infiltrator, one hacker. There was a dry bones, but apparently he has been sleeping on the pavement since he got here. Its a shame, but he wasn't truly mafia material anyway."
Head to the NW to look around the wild section. It's definitely not standard.

"So... these things that require money, will I be handling them out of my pocket or with resources provided to me?"
"Good morning sir.. I apologize if I'm late, I hope I didn't have you wait for long.. I figured moving the schedule forwards actually meant back in time."
Time: 10:40

PKStarship tries to wring his clothes out as much as possible, the leaves in his damp but clean dumpster duds and tries to act casual in the lounge and take a seat on the couch. Before he can, the Bob-omb on one of the couches jumps up, his fuse hissing as he burns with anger. "HEY, these are one of a kind leather couches! Get your soggy butt away from them, creep!"

You play the game anyway while standing up in front of the TV instead. The Bob-omb is still miffed, but goes back to lounging while listening to music.

LucasRCD looks for a place to play video games to pass the time. That place is the lounge. You meet the human from earlier, PKstarship, who is much soggier than before. The two of you decide to co-op the game he's already playing. By the end of the session you've defeated the first boss, a giant monster built from parts of other dead people and reanimated by a lightning storm.

"So... these things that require money, will I be handling them out of my pocket or with resources provided to me?"

"You'll be paying for it on your own, but you can borrow money from us on a grant if you need it. In general those costs will be rolled into the 50% of earnings fee, but we prefer you do not rely on it, or you will not go far. Once you get out, you better introduce yourself to your three new grunts, they're still in the gardens I think, and make sure the other people who came with you know you're in charge. As soon as all of the interviews are done, you should take them to your new base of operations."

"One last thing, don't tell anyone else you talked to me. I like to keep my conversations secret."

Zerus heads northwest into the wild section. Its full of wild flowers, rocks and a small pond, as well as many statues around the garden. The area is broken up by many hedges, creating lots of little encloses. Its fairly peaceful, bar the sound of sparring from the other side of the garden. While you explore, you notice shifting around in the earth beneath yyou, and then ahead of you. You shrug it off, and keep looking around. Hey, someone dropped something in one of these little enclosures! You pick up a phial of fadeleaf toxin.

"Good morning sir.. I apologize if I'm late, I hope I didn't have you wait for long.. I figured moving the schedule forwards actually meant back in time."

"Right. Common mistake, apparently, but in the Syndicate we don't make the same mistakes twice, so keep that in mind. Well. As I was saying. Can I trouble you for a hacking demonstration? If you can do that, everything else should be in order."
