For some reason, for the past few days I have NOT been able to get onto SMWCentral. I can do literally everything else just fine, including internet related things, but when I try to come here, Firefox immediately gives me this "Unable to connect" message. Same with other browsers, too. I don't think it's an internet issue, I can view here just fine on my 3DS, Wii U, and everything else, and I can get here with a proxy (as I am now), but no matter what I try I can't come here directly on my computer. I tried asking for help on the IRC, but nothing they've suggested has worked. I patiently let it happen for days now in hopes that it would solve itself at some point, but nothing has happened yet and this is really starting to get annoying.
I can't really remember now since it was days ago and Mibbit doesn't save IRC logs, but if I recall correctly most of it was along the lines of opening CMD and typing in some random commands and looking at the IP addresses that showed up, but what I can remember according to Alcaro everything there was fine.
Also I think there was some other stuff about opening up the console while on the broken site, but for whatever reason I was missing some options that I should have had.
In case it's worth mentioning, Ersanio said the same thing happened to him once with just this site, but he never replied when I asked him how long it stayed like that or what he did to fix it.
Anyways, try cleaning your cookies and other website data. Also if you pm the ip address from your normal connection, I'll double check to see you weren't ip banned or something weird
It certainly doesn't save it for me anyway, but that's probably because I normally have Firefox set to "Never remember history" anyway, so maybe it erases them?
As a matter of fact, that pretty much answers the second thing you said too; up until a few days ago (around the time this started), I always had history saving (which probably includes cookies as well) completely disabled. I mean, it's re-enabled now, but I don't really think there's really anything that I would need to clean, especially since I've manually erased all my history a few times since then.
Test in another browser (download Chrome, for example). Does the issue persist? If so, set up a new user account on your computer and test in that. Does the issue persist there, too? If so, you might be looking at a potential network issue with how your computer is connecting to your network. Try on a different network (such as setting up a local hotspot on your phone and connecting to it on your computer, or joining another local network). If the issue is still happening, you could be looking at a reinstall of your OS. If not, you may want to try troubleshooting your network access point (resetting modem/router, for example).
If the issue is user-specific but not browser-specific, (the same thing happens in more than one browser), try clearing out your temporary files.
If the issue is browser-specific, I think there is a way for you to not only uninstall Firefox but also clear out its user data on your computer. Do that and then reinstall Firefox, and the issue should be resolved.
Also:
- Check and make sure you have the latest updates on your computer.
- Make sure your date and time are correct. D/T issues can cause certificate issues when viewing websites.
- Do you remember doing any kind of system or browser updates before this issue started happening, or has this been totally at random?
Try resetting your computer and/or your router. On my old system (windows vista, I think), if for some reason I had trouble accessing a website for too long, my computer would simply refuse to even try to access it ever again. Since my connection was dodgy at the time too, this caused problems. I know it wasn't at the browser level since I had 3 different ones installed and if one of them refused, they all refused.
Did everything else you said in that paragraph already and it still doesn't work. Ugh, to be honest I really don't want to have to re-install my entire OS just because one website doesn't load for me for some reason. I'd honestly rather just use this proxy until the issue somehow gets resolved, even if it is inconvenient.

I don't know. I remember something strange happening the day I made this thread where the user account suddenly shut down with literally no warning at all and went to some "checking for updates" thing or whatever, and I had no idea what it was, so I did a hard power-down immediately out of fear of it possibly being a weird virus or something interfering it. However, this can't have anything to do with it because it was after this already started. How can I check to see if there are new updates on Windows 7?

How peculiar. Your ping data shows you have no connection issues with the site, so that rules out resetting your modem/router.
I have to tell you that although the idea of doing an OS reinstall for one website isn't exactly ideal, the error you described above tells me that Windows may have failed in checking for or installing updates. This lends me to think that you might be seeing the early symptoms of a bigger problem with your OS.
Try using MS Config to set your computer to start up in Safe Mode (disable all non-Microsoft processes from starting up). Does the issue persist? If not, then you have a piece of incompatible software (3rd-party) running on your computer. If the issue does persist in Safe Mode, a reinstall is the next logical step.
Can't remember if I mentioned this to you in irc at all, but also try disabling any antivirus program you may be running at the time. While its disabled, do a "/ipconfig release" and then "/ipconfig renew" in the command promt, then reopen up your browser and try getting on again.
