Well I'm actually helping with this hack, by making a couple of levels.
Here's the first one I'm working on called Back To The Past 2. Based on SMB3, my 2nd fav Mario game.
Sorry it's taking a while OmegaYoshi, I'm taking my time on this, and I'm working on Super Mario Dream World... WHAT?! IT'S NOT CANCELLED?! But anyways in the future there'll be Venus Flytraps in these 2 pipes.
quick little announcement: so, world 4 is almost finished. I'm just waiting on pixel-gon gamer to finish "Back to the Past 2" so I can add it to the hack, and I need to make the world 4 castle, and polish up the level "Drug Trip."
so, this hack went on a 6 day hiatus. maybe hiatus wasn't the right word to use...
haha, it looks like Mario's big nose is pressed against the glass.
I like the level, the palettes really nice. But it might be worth considering using an enemy other than flying koopas. Unless this is an early game level, they seem to be way too easy to get around, considering how slow they move and how small they are. Maybe using an enemy that moves faster or even locks onto Mario might make it more tense. The bullet bills work though, they're always within range to shoot and avoidable.
the first thing i though of was various boos with the gfx replaced. specifically that line of boos that bounce around the room, but most of them would work (boo rings you have to enter and leave while shooting other enemies, that one that slowly crosses the screen to juxtapose the fast moving bills, stuff like that)
i dont know how those enemies interact with the flying machine though.
I really like this level, full of boos and dry bones, and I like the music, which I know it's "Stellar Sonata" by WhiteYoshiEgg. And the boss is very cool, and the level will be better if there will be lightning generator, like in Mario Gives Up level "Purple Coin - Warning", which I really loved it.
